Genting Trip (13-16th June 09)

Before I even start on my long trip post to Genting 2 mths ago with PH, YL and SY... here's an "intro slideshow" to our day 1 there! (PS: Those "summary slides" are photos taken by me cos nt a lot haha.) Btw ppl, there are about 40-60 photos in each slideshows. Paiseh I can't paste the slideshows directly here cos everytime I try, slideshows belonging to strangers come out instead... hmph!

Day 1
Met up with PH and we walked to Boon Lay market ard 8pm on the 13th. YL met us for dinner there too… whoa his bagpack big sia~ haha. Finished my “not-so-nice” Hor Fun and we went to find SY, who was shopping ard with her parents. After shopping for some breads + sweets stuff (things we might eat on coach), we went to get our seat tickets from Five Stars Tour Agency. Many ppl sia since it was the June sch holidays… we gt a 26-seater double-deck coach.
Waited “gan jeong-ly” for our coach haha… so scared we’d miss it lol. Anyway, PH and SY took the “couple seat” whilst YL and me took the single ones. Throughout the journey I think the coach stopped 2 or 3 times ba, for a short rest each. During the 1st stop, we saw a “fat star cat”… it was like almost every visitor couldn’t help but notice it cos it’s like following some ppl ard, with tat “pathetically-looking-at-u-pleading-for-food” eyes… haha. It can even do stunts like rolling on the flr lor… and somemore very “cam sensitive” leh… did nice poses when cams came near lor haha. We wanted to buy mac food up the bus at one stop but the driver stopped us from doing so haiz haha. Then, it was already like 11+pm when I couldn’t find my mp3 when even though I ransacked my 2 bags haha. So, I borrowed YL’s one lor, and he watched the HK show on the coach haha. Eh… his songlists those songs nice o… shall get from him someday haha.
Didn’t really slp on the bus… was talking to YL while we were nearing and on the uphill part… saw Twin Tower from afar too. Think SY and PH din slp too, and SY looked so excited when we were nearing Genting haha. *The night outside SG was too pretty while at peace… couldn’t bear to take my eyes off it lol.*

Gt down the bus near 5am ba. The wind was blowing on our faces… cold and shiok o haha. Walked via the passageway to First World Hotel’s lobby… alamak many ppl were queuing to get no. to check in lor! Queued for some time b4 we gt our queue no. And as we can’t check in yet, we left our bags with the counter and left to walk ard. It was too early, Starbucks was opened, and the casino was there but we were all under 21 so… haha. Walked to the First World Indoor Theme Park and it was all dark and kinda quiet… so with a few other tourists (I think so), whom liked us, gt nth to do… we walked aimlessly and took photos “in the dimness” haha. *My stupid cam dunno y can’t take clear pics without the flashlight on leh!*
Managed to capture shots of the sunrise… beautiful. It’s rare okie… I mean I don’t wake up so early juz to catch sunrise in SG haha. 3 of us went near the metal gate that leads to the outdoor theme park... haiz nt opened as yet, so could only see pathetically from outside haha. SY and PH gt sleepy, and while we pray for 8am to come (theme park opened by then), we went to have breakfast at a noodle restaurant. Ah the Ipoh prawn mee or sth I had was very spicy neh… PH and SY “woked up” to share pasta, then they fell aslp soon after eating haha. YL and I talked about singing and stuff… like how he likes Jam Hsiao’s songs. After like an hr’s rest or so, 4 of us went outside the hotel… took a stroll alongside the road. YL was so enthu taking photos of flowers… using his DSLR cam… all those zooming in, special effects and complicated functions… doi haha. PH was interested in it though… kept lending from YL. Took some photos of SY at the First World’s entrance too hehe.

Basically we were wondering ard aimlessly for few hrs b4 the theme park finally opened its gates to us! Gt the tickets for both indoor and outdoor theme park (since we plan to finish “playing” on the 1st day), plus special “one-try” activities including Genting X-pedition Wall, Space Shot (didn’t went for these 2 though), SnowWorld, Genting Bowl and Flying Coaster… total about RM80 per person ba… worth.

Decided to go to the Outdoor Theme Park 1st since it closes earlier than the indoor one. Had been saying tat I want to try all the rides when I go Genting but aiyah… some were really too kiddish le… due to time constraint and “low-interest” from the other 3, we din take all haha.
The 1st ride we took was the “spinning chairs” aka “Spinner”. SY wanted to try, and it was the nearest to the entrance beside the “Double Deck Carousel”, so we took it 1st. Felt like a toddler sitting in their mini seats while on this ride… but instead of running ard in the vehicle with wheels (we all do so during our 2, 3 yrs old days haha), we were “spin-flying in the air” LOL! SY, PH and SY were in front of me lor… so while spinning in a tilted position (the position of “falling backwards”), I couldn’t take my eyes off the 3 in front la… wanted to see their reactions mah lol. So the greedy me gt a bit giddy after like 3mins of spin lol… cos by right u shld look afar in this kind of rides to prevent giddiness. Oh, I realised I was almost the only one screaming (a bit la) in our grp… but can hear some other young ppl scream like siao haha.
Think we all “woke up” after some turns, so adrenaline took us to “Cyclone” coaster! That was the 1st roller coaster in Genting, and it’s like 4 ppl at one go in a ride. Honestly, my legs gt a bit jelly when we were about to take tat cos it’s been like yrs since I took the last coaster ride leh. Think YL and PH sat infront, with SY and me behind. Gosh this coaster was a bit “unsteady” one eh… YL was scared cos he to the heard the sound of the railings… erm… giving way? Lol. I rmb-ed the steepness of the tracks… u are like almost 90degrees straight when the coaster dropped down la! I held so damn tight to the support cos I have the feeling my butt left my seat for a few moments~ I think it was the “scariest/unsafe” coaster ride among all I took lol.

Came down with a bit of “weakened knees” haha, though I braved up a front somehow. Came upon “Pirate Train”, where there’s this car ride and u go into a house with “pirates”. Ah doi! I admit I’m a weakling when it comes to horror stuff. No matter how much they convince me, I juz couldn’t bring my body into the queue at 1st LOL. PH la… kept on pulling me in I oso “no face” to reject anymore, so gt into the car with YL, with SY and PH behind in another car haha. Some youngsters came out laughing and screaming lor… esp those guys… I was so confused and the heart was thumping real fast, thinking “This is worse than asking me to take roller coaster.” “Wham!” and our car moved in la… alamak the whole place was super dark (I saw through squinted eyes of mine~), with a few pirate skeletons here and there… YL kept on telling me to open my eyes *I did a bit la, did see some things, juz my eyes too small he din realize I reckon haha.*… aiyoh I felt like the journey lasted for super long sia. After the ride, YL was super disappointed haha~ this is the most boring “horror ride” he’d taken I guess… cos he said nth like a “ghost” or wat popped out from somewhr to scare ppl lol. SY and PH agreed too.

SY, PH and me took some fun shots with the “Energiser battery” model, and YL, SY and me posed with the fake mushrms while we made our way to the “Grand Prix Fun Cart” game station via Parrot Lane. YL had been anticipating for it lor haha. The game’s a bit like Sentosa’s Luge ride, but I thought Luge ride was a bit more exciting maybe cos the road was more of a slope. Think PH was leading at 1st, with YL in front of me, and SY juz behind me. Soon, I lost trail of PH and YL ba haha… but I “lost” SY too lol… she was far behind liao lol. 4 rounds of driving and there’s a time when I was sandwiched bet 2 other strangers… doi one of them reckless driving la… forced me to slow down and I couldn’t change lanes haiz. Well, towards the end still managed to see PH and YL liao haha. Anyway, the smell of oil and tyres on the track was rather strong… couldn’t stand.
Moved on to “Corkscrew”. Oh this looked like one of the most interesting rides there to us. Had to put our belongings and specs down, in case our things fly off eslewhr in mid-air haha. YL and I were like two “blind” ppl in our seats haha… SY and PH were ok since one wore contacts and the other gt perfect eyesight. *envious* The seats felt safer cos we gt the cushion cover over us. When the car left and went uphill, I felt as if I was a “helpless person/laundry stranded in bed”, and then waiting to be “tossed and turned” in the huge mid-air washing machine” lor LOL. Kudos to me cos I gt it all right! The nex min, even b4 I could see anything, my eyes shut automatically and there goes… “swish… swoosh… swash”! It felt as heart-popping when you go downhill, but safer when it turned 360degrees cos u noe u gt ur safety cover over u. The whole ride ended in like less than 2mins ba. It was nt scary at all but very thrilling for me hehe. Did thought of taking it a 2nd time but din haha.
Next was the “Pirate Ship”. I can’t rmb if I ever vomited when I took the ride when I was young, but did worried a little b4 we went on it. We sat in the middle, and SY seemed panicky haha. YL and PH “on”one la… those 2 no prob taking any rides one sia haha. Seriously, it was a bit of torture to me la… worse than taking a roller-coaster. Firstly, it was slow yet cos of the huge-angle swing, u feel like ur heart’s falling out anytime haha. Secondly, I am sure tat I will vomit if I don’t scream/yell during the ride~ *Ppl, screaming really works in thrilling rides. I used to keep mum last time, felt horrible after getting down but screaming really lets off whatever pressure/horror u have inside during the ride.* Thirdly, due to the improper use of my “falsetto” voice *LOL* when I scream, my throat was a bit painful when I came down sian.

Saw “Space Shot”. My legs “jellied” instantly lor haha! Those ppl were being brought up into above the clouds… and then experience freefall~ I’m afraid of heights… so games like Bungee Jump scares me off. YL and PH wanted to try this, but SY and I insisted that we dun dare. *Lucky gt SY on my side, if nt I think I would have taken this ride and scare/cry the hell out of my life ba!?* We did tell YL and PH to go up, but they want all 4 to go together, so we all gave up this one-try game haha. Instead, we went up the “Matahari” ferris wheel. SY, PH, YL and I took photos of each other, when I was in a cabin with SY, and PH with YL in another one after us.

Moved on to take the boat ride to “Dinosaurland”. I rmbed I took this when I went Genting 10yrs ago haha… so wanted to try again to see if there’s any diff. Sad to say… as boring I think haha. Super duper slow boat ride into a cave… and listened to like 3mins of dino talk, with some fake machine-operated dino moving their necks nw and then, here and there lol.

Oh yeah, YL was on and on about the “Flying Coaster” so 4 of us went to take it. I think it’s the most exciting coaster ride there haha. Again, we took off our specs and safekept our belongings in a locker. When the “red boards” (for us to趴着during the ride) came, we had to jump onto it and stayed in a standing position while we were being taken up the tracks. SY’s hand gt a bit stuck in bet at 1st… phew虚惊一场. Then, we looked like those “popcorns” in a popcorn-making machine, turned 2 rounds when we went up b4 the thrill began. It’s nt so scary when the coaster went downhill due to the position we’re in, but I grasped super strongly to the grips when it turned 360degrees… 2 or 3 times. I did manage to open my eyes at some pt but still, mostly shut. PH and YL had their eyes opened and they said it was super shiok throughout the 1min ride~ SY closed her eyes uptight all the way haha. I bought the photo together with keychain after the ride… RM25… I looked super “blur” in the photo haha. Lastly, we went on the “Rolling Thunder Mine Train” which goes from inside to outside, and then back to inside of the park. It was super noisy when the train went up the tracks… felt literally in a mine… couldn’t even hear what the other 3 were saying. This ride was full of turns, quite “breezy” and nt scary at all, except for the little fall in front haha.

Hmm…didn’t take the “Super Toboggan” and “Sungai Rejang Flume Ride” but I’ll make sure I take it the nex time! Din take “Bumper Boat” and “Boating” cos they tot no time for the 1st one since there’s a long queue, and it was a bit boring for the latter. Btw, we did visited “Beryl’s Chocolate Wonderland” before gg back to the hotel. My legs were too tired from the walks, so I sat down to wait for the other 3 while they toured ard this mini choco place.

Went back inside First World indoor and checked in our rms. We stayed on the 5th flr, rms side by side. SY and PH shared a double bed rm, whilst YL and I had one with single beds. *Heng ah.* Put our things down and we went out to have lunch at a foodcourt. My Jap rice was ex and tasted bad so sad. Then, we walked a bit b4 PH felt a bit uncomfortable and SY accompanied her back to hotel. YL and I continued exploring the indoors haha. We took the “Rio Float” and ours was a green dragon in mid-air haha. Took snapshots of the interior of the theme park from above.

We decided to go singing as we wait for SY and PH to come back. Sang at “K Box”… literally a singing karaoke box… only 1RM a song or sth… YL went to do the indoor “Funtasy World – Video Games Park” card b4 we start tapping it for use haha. We sang 1 solo each, then a duet haha. SY and PH came back then… but PH still looked a bit sick haha.

“Genting Bowl” was our nex stop hehe. Each of us’s gt the free one game play ticket. PH used it, but she din want to play, so we gt 1 more round of play. My 1st ever attempt at bowling… I think only like 3pins down ba? 2nd time even worse…“洗沟”haha. I began to realise I can’t play well with the medium-sized ball, so from then on kept on choosing small ones. Hey… I think I gt talent in bowling o… could strike all down a few times leh hehe *”tyco”*. SY very cute one… she gt a special pose while bowling lol. YL seems the most steadiest la… cos I rmb SY and I began dropping our balls when we let go of it, towards the end of the game cos I think our fingers gt tired le haha. In our 1st round of play, YL 1st, followed by SY then me la haha. *Bowling is fun!*

I very much wanted to go to “SnowWorld”, so they accompanied me. Doi… the cold wear and gloves were smelly la~ YL and I din change into the boots… in which I regretted soon after cos my sneakers couldn’t tahan the freezing ice beneath me. Stupid YL began throwing those ice at us… and 4 playful kids began smacking ice at each other LOL. It was fun actually… but my feets couldn’t take it longer, and PH’s ears/nose felt a bit painful, so we stayed less than 15mins inside haha.

Was already evening. Wanted to see if there’s any movie to catch, but sadly none. So, we went to take the “Adult Bumper Car”. Super long queue… gt a young boy “cut queue”, and his poor sister was crying like nobody’s business cos the grandparents dun allow her to take the ride again. YL and PH was in one car, and SY and I was together. SY was the driver, and I was the “passenger-cum-advisor”. Told her how to “bump” YL they all but dunno why bumped into many other drivers instead lol. They came to bang us oso lor… maybe cos they saw SY too easy to bully la… blur blur driver haha. Anyway, there were head-on collisions, “butt-attack” etc haha~ I laughed super hard lol.

Decided to take the “Monorail” which goes round the entire theme park. YL and I took a lot of photos on the way… night view was beautiful really. Came back into the park and took the 2nd last ride for the day… the “Euro Express”. Indoor roller coaster whereby u can see the view of the whole indoor theme park in a fast-paced motion haha. It was simple fun lo. PH’s voice almost gone liao by then haha.

Hehe… think we went to the outdoor park again *running in and out* at night cos was thinking of taking some rides… but sadly after a few jump shots taken by YL for the 3 of us, it began to rain somehow. Left the place hurriedly and proceeded with our last ride indoors: “Venice Gondola”. Think I watched the “꽃보다·남자”, then wanted to go on the boat ride haha. So, took this ride and enjoyed the “fake Venice feel” haha.

Dinner at Merry Brown at like 9+pm. We discussed our plans for the 2nd day as we ate haha. YL对外面凉凉的雾气念念不忘sia… kept on wanting to go outside for “air-con” lol. We shopped inside a bit, and dunno why somehow I began to hav headache, so wanted to go back to rm 1st. YL accompanied me back, PH and SY came back shortly after. Showered, then YL went out to buy his supper for the night, while we 3 gals cozied up in bed haha. We were playing some psychological tests *many “diff” varieties of qns o~*, and YL joined in soon after. Guessed SY and PH were super tired after a whole day of play, so they slpt quite soon. YL and I went back to our rms and chatted till like 1+am b4 we “surrendered” to周公haha.

Day 2
So ppl, here’s a summary photo slideshow for day 2!

Woke up at like 8+am in the morning on Mon. Did I mention that our rms were in the middle of the building, so it’s like once u close ur curtains and switch off all the lights… poof! It’s 100% dark~ *No matter how much Vitamin A u take, u still can’t see even a teeny bit of ur limbs LOL!*Well, that was a gd thing cos it made slping very easy and comfortable.
There were many ppl having breakfast. The dining area is basically divided into 3, 4 areas… so there were like repetition of food here and there. I tried the nasi lemak, noodle, and the scrambled egg… so-so lo. The orange and watermelon were not bad though.

4 of us can’t wait to take the Genting Skyway cable car. *YL’s gt free tickets hehe.* We walked/strolled all the way to Genting Hotel (YL took some photo with the “fake cardboard”… macham he’s the magician haha~) and went up this Asia’s longest skyway. I’m afraid of heights mah… and it was basically all trees and bushes below! Every time the cable car comes to a “support” part whr there are chained wheels present which made the car jerk faster all of a sudden… dang my heart jumped haha. YL and I were taking pic all the way, and they spotted Rafflesia flower! Anyway, can’t rmb if it was YL or PH joking tat this would be super exciting if it was like roller coaster speed. *Thk u ah~ I’ll stand aside, wait for u guys to come back and “admire” ur “pale/ greenish face” ah~*

Felt like the ride took like 15mins ba? Kinda long eh. Reached to the bottom and while nearing the station, we actually saw horses in a big, deserted farm. We all wanted to go la. But 1st, we went to this “animal eco-garden” 1st. It was said that there were more than 200species of animals inside… so we each paid like RM10+ to go in.
Indeed a lot sia~ u gt fishes, insects, birds, monkeys, roosters, peacocks etc. I saw one HUGE snake~ I mean it shld be “hibernating/slping” when we saw it cos it wasn’t moving… it definitely looked like it can “bundle up” the 4 of us at one go! Oh and I dun like seeing the “shed skin” part… some of the skins gt stuck on the wall… yucks! *nightmare~* Then was the peacock… the male one looked really pretty… standing high up on the branch. *It reminded me of Lianhua… my pri sch was the only sch in SG to have peacock in sch back then haha!* Saw some parrots quarelling/pecking at each other… woo the feathers were flying all over the cage. Then, there’s this bear (looks like Beverly bear but I’m nt sure)… it’s the fattest one we’d seen so far~ The whole body was a huge mass… that when it moved, the “fats + flesh + fur” “wriggled” together LOL. Yet somehow, it looked kinda cute haha.

So after we finish touring the place, we headed on to find the way to go to the farm. Asked ard, and we finally found the route there ourselves haha. No other tourist went there… kinda ulu. There were quite a no of horses there… but separated by fences. Think they haven had visitors in a long time… so those near us ones, came nearer to us when 4 of us went to take photos haha. I didn’t dare go too near though, cos u nv noe when it would throw tantrum haha. Horses had been one of the animals that I really liked *maybe partly cos of“白马王子”tat saying, so I took more notice of horses hehe*. They look proud (nt arrogant), looks “dashing”, can run… and somehow symbolises freedom to me. Their eyes seem to be able to talk too! Didn’t go near the stable cos we realise it gt smellier as we went further inside haha. Well, enjoyed the nice weather… and photo-taking the horses haha.

Cable-d back. The journey up wasn’t easy for me too lol. There’s one part when the car suddenly stopped/slowed down and tat frightened me a bit la… tot wat happened. Then heard some announcement saying that there were wild monkeys nearby and we happened to catch a glimpse of a few of them. The cable car went further up, and as it went, it began jerking more seriously cos of the wind and the mist. The mist gt so heavy tat it seemed like we were sitting from inside a “fridge” and looking outside haha. It was all white outside in the afternoon… we can barely see anything except for the mist lol. *No sense of security at all!*

Reached Genting Hotel and we were hungry~ Scouted ard and decided on Sushi King! I tried the Unagi set… the meat was so nice! But it was a bit ex la. Suddenly we were joking about YL being the emperor, me being the empress, SY being the princess and PH being the “privileged servant” whom ate with the 3 prestigious members of the royal family on the same table LOL! *Reminds me of our “thampui国”… “Sep Love” haha.*
Finished our food and we decided to go singing~ after much persuading PH lol. Went “Be A Star” karaoke but it seemed they only have the evening time package. So meanwhile, we walked ard aimlessly… in shops, outside the hotel, took silly photos (see YL’s multiple shots of me, being blissfully surrounded by “my servant and daughter” LOL~) and of cos some other funny自拍 e 4 of us took as a grp.
Finally went into the karaoke rm at like 5pm. They gave us quite big a rm neh… sang for like 3hrs and it’s about RM20 per person. The pineapple rice was gd when warm, but I was kinda full… so pushed the food to YL lol. *He’s a big eater haha.* The system was gd, so was the mic haha. The song lists were up-to-date as well. So难得I get to hear PH open her mouth and sing in karaoke sia… the last time we went Kbox together was like poly days liao~ She enjoyed the k-session… lucky haha. Oh and I’m impressed by SY singing Vitas’s“100种生活”… her voice is so soothing and suitable for tat song!Tot we could extend but the price was too ex, so we didn’t.

Went back to First World Hotel and we shopped ard. Wanted to catch movie, but none attracted us. Wanted to play bowling… but PH din want to haha. *Ok, I admit I was addicted lol.* After some time, 2hrs passed… we went to da bao our dinner. Mine was KFC I think, and I gt myself honeydew cut fruit too hehe.

I taught them the “love poker card” game. PH was super enthu in tat lol. We tried hers, followed by SY, then YL’s. Lol… the game is about u questioning ur future… so it might nt be true la. Somehow, we played till so fun haha. Then, YL taught us “Bridge”. This game ah… need to use brain one. YL would explain to us after every round, but both SY and I were super blur haha. Usually, I dislike such games cos I’m lazy to think haha. But ah doi… “Bridge” gt me so addicted to it la! I didn’t feel the least tired/sleepy even when it was 3+am lor! PH was already yawning away haha. Finally, I think we slpt at near 4am ba? This time round, fell aslp damn fast haha.

Day 3
Very reluctant to go home leh cos I was totally in holiday mood liao. Woke up ard 9am, then we went to have breakfast like day 2. Dunno but somehow felt more sian then ysd… maybe cos we knew it was like “breakfast, walk a while, then bus home” haha.
Yes in fact, it was like tat haha. 4 of us walked ard the theme park… looked at some accessories and then went Starbucks cos we tot we were supposed to wait there. Later realised no, so we walked to the departure area, got out seat nos *Yeah! Sitting in front on the upper deck!* While the 3 gals were sitting down, waiting for the coach driver to come, YL was busy taking photos again. Well, we had multiple shots again lol. PH took his cam and shot SY’s shoes… dunno y haha.

It was 1.30pm when the bus drove off. YL and I were sitting right in front… so we could see the views downhill very clearly. It was a rather long trip downhill though. SY and PH were talking behind I reckon haha… though soon later I hear no sound haha. Halfway back, the whole tour grp went down at a supermart stop to shop for some Malaysia foodstuffs. I gt 2 bottles of凉茶juice and a packet of spicy tidbit.
It was afternoon on the bus journey back. I din noe wat SY and PH chatted about, but YL and I were on and on chatting… I wasn’t slpy at all haha… half cos the weather was warm la. Topics under the sun… varied haha. *我就是喜欢听故事、喜欢分享。感觉很好~*

Reached the eating place (kinda near to SG) at ard 7+pm. Had fish ball noodle… but it seemed that the dry one was nicer haha. After tat, continued chatting with YL on the bus ride back to SG. *好不想下车哦~* Back home at ard 9pm. Ben msn-ed me immediately once I came online… and I received YL’s msg too.
Was kinda blur until I saw the news tat there was actually another bus behind us on the same day, which departed at 3pm and翻车during半山腰. Omg… tat was scary. If we were behind them… then most prob we would be stuck there too… and I can’t go to work the nex day. *我相信我的精神寄托。*

我很享受出国玩乐，尤其是和熟悉的、聊得来的朋友一起的时候。*My family members and I haven’t even dun travel overseas together before.* Anyway, here’s the photo I bought of while we took the “superman coaster” haha. I looked super blur haha.
