Talking…typing…

*“Morning/afternoon, Precicon D&C, Sharon speaking…how can I help you?” whole day de dialogue leh~*

Went to opp de taxi stand to take company van…a lot of factory worker/admin worker waiting for their transports as well. I waited for like 5mins, then suddenly Palmo, who walked near me, asked: “Sharon?” I didn’t quite rmb who she is, so got a bit愣住when she talked to me. Alex came a bit later. Ginny looked tired…she was sleeping on the van.

Reached company the started work. LC gave me more filing work to do. I was happy lor~ Honestly, besides picking up calls and filing then, I got like nth to do le. There are some books on Omron relays, timers, limit switches plus business sales guide de books on my desk…but the minute u flip open, u wouldn’t want to read anymore. They were actually kind of those “technical knowledge” books…chim and boring to me.

A bit suay la…1st few calls oni then I receive one from SuperTron (company’s dealer)…stock check. This auntie spoke English nt very well leh…I can’t hear her pronunciation of “X” properly, so keyed in the wrong model number many times. I kept on apologising to her thru the phone but she was kinda annoyed: “Haiyo, why u can’t get it huh? Why u so wat de!?” *How I wish I could “cup” the phone or smack her on the face la! Plus, say her straight: “Hey auntie, ur English got prob ah! Learn to say clearly la!”*

Anyway, finally I “successfully” in doing some stock checkings! So happy…another uncle oso from SuperTron called to check the availability of this model called “E2E-X5MF1” *Heck I don’t even learn anything about CODES in CHS la!*…I managed to find it on the com! So happy sia cos there are still quite a few times whereby I failed to do so and Jenny told me cos the data nt in the system or sth. Btw, the customers there like to say “England, Malaysia, Finland, X-ray” etc when reading aloud the model number…guess it’s their habit.

Then, I received this call from an angmoh, in Tokyo. He told me he was looking for the senior business manager, Mr Tan You Koon. I double-checked if he called the right company and then asked my colleagues if there was such a person cos I don’t see the name on the contact list. *He doesn’t even know if TYK is guy or girl when he called.* Jenny said might be Shirline…so I asked Shirline…she picked up the call, oso confused about what he was saying. Finally she managed to find out that he was actually looking for “Daniel Poon”! “Daniel” became “Tan You” while “Poon” became “Koon”~ Omg…furthermore his “perfect British accent” kinda heavy…which made hearing even worse.

Got an uncle called to find “Janet”…suay la him~ There’s like Janice, Jasmine, Jenny, Janice and Jane in my office…but juz no “Janet” haha.

*麻烦同事就像在低声拜托他们一样, worse thing is when they seem to find u irritable. Maybe cos they are busy too, that’s why. I don’t know about a lot of things, so I got to clarify my doubts no matter what.*

Lunch shared table with Quincy. She’s very sociable, we chatted a lot about Chinese and my life as an intern journalist last time. She told me another intern’s in her third year of poly this coming April…that shld mean that I’m older than her ba? Quincy lives at Hougang, and she’s been working there for like 13yrs le. Luckily she drives, if nt she’d had to take 2hrs to reach office from her home. A middle-age man came to join in our chat halfway…he was asking about how I use MS pinyin on com, if I’m gg to become a teacher in future, about my nationality etc *Yes I reckon 80% de colleagues here thought that I’m a foreigner cos of the way I speak mandarin~ guess they thought I’m from China…aiyah why can’t Taiwan leh? Lol.* …until he went away, then Quincy told me he’s the General Manager! *Alamak I was talking to him like nobody’s business and then I found out he’s like…the boss!?*

Afternoon Jasmine taught me about “dispatching”. I did some dispatching, then bored until went to play Internet Reversi. Juz went I was about to win the game, Jasmine suddenly came behind me…said wanted to teach me about sales inquiry blah… I immediately close the game window lor! She taught me quite a lot this time round, till ard 5.45pm then ended. I learnt a few more functions of JWalk system, about emailing using the fax machine…quite a few things la. Quite a number of steps but Jasmine said it’s all easy job~ haha…got to wait till I’m used ba.

Jasmine’s those kind of ppl whereby you try nt to make any careless mistakes in front of her, if nt she would start to somehow nag a bit at u…as if u din listen carefully when she taught u how to do. SM…she sat right behind of me, so mostly when I got probs, I ask her. Hmm…maybe cos she’s got her own things to take care of as well, at times she seemed a bit不耐烦to what I ask. I understand la, but I can sense that she has the kind of “living according to her rules” de原则, these… sorry I can’t comply. I am stubborn…I sit the way I want to lor.

*我学会戴上礼貌微笑的面具,纯粹因为害怕得罪他人。*

*I reached out my hands, you didn’t grab hold, then I’m gone.*

*从何时开始我变成了主动开口说话的人啊?当然,我也希望身边所有的人都是如此。*

*在van的一路上,望着蓝蓝的夜空,听着Michael Buble的“Home”。。。很舒服。*
