Dance! Subaru
Watched "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" part 1 ysn... shld be watching the other half tml night haha.
MH called me this morning and told me about this Taiwan singing competition variety show season 5 de“星光踢馆赛”audition in SG. He asks if I want to go together, but I admit ba... I nt confident, plus I'm nt ready to stand on stage and tell ppl the kind of singer I wanna be. *No, being a pop singer isn't my dream.* So, I told MH to go for it lor... haha and ask his classmates too... plus the audition is on 13th wor... the day I go Genting lol. Haha I might juz go and support him ba lol.
Went lunch with LZ, Judy, Lynn, Christie, Farzana and PL, the new temp staff. She came since Mon this wk... helping VWO department. PL's gg to NTU Business course in Aug hah... then Christie and Farzana both graduated from NTU, so Christie was like "reminding" us to find a bf in uni lol... cos she said when pp step out to work in society, it's diff to find one haha. But, she found her husband thru her friend's gathering lol. Farzana's bf was since uni though lol. She told us, from exp, nt to stay together with a gd friend in uni hostel haha. *Reminds me of SM's story haha~* Hmm... I did... with 3 very gd friends somemore lol. Well, bound to have磨擦, but lucky we didn't撕破脸after we left there la... instead I brought back with me a lifetime of unforgettable memories haha.
Anyway, talked to one charity director on the phone. His voice very nice and comforable la, but hor after talking some time, I gt pek cek la... cos he asked me some things tat I wasn't still yet very familiar with. Ah doi... I juz want a confirmation email mah... muz he ask so much!? In the end, Surin offered to help me with this case haha. She said she like talking to him wor... lol. Me? No thks sia~
Met QW at AMK Hub at night for dinner and the movie "Dance! Subaru". Wanted to go Cine Cathay originally, but the seats left 1st row nia... I reckon booked by DBSK fans lol~ Anyway, the theatre at Cine looks super small too... lucky we went AMK one... so much bigger and more comfortable.
Saw Justin too... he said want to "escort QW home" sia... he lives in AMK leh, QW in CCK... he "so gd" o~ hehe.
This movie is quite a gd example of how a totally fitting lead brings life to the show. Honestly, the storyline was rather normal, sth ppl can easily think of. A gal (Subaru), whose twin bro passed away young, and she'd promise to dance for him. She faces obstacles, and then finally overcame all and won a competition, and goes on to shine in her world of dance.
Meisa Kuroki blew me away. Her look's very "nt Japanese" haha (Her dad's American-Japanese mixed while the mum's Japanese)... she's tanned and definitely looks gd on screen. I tot she looks like a more matured version of南拳妈妈's Lara haha. Well, being cool and yet able to dance so well... be it ballet or hip hop... it was an eye candy to the audiences' eye ba haha.
Go Ara was Liz Park in the movie. *Her face's crafted like a barbie doll la!* I liked how Subaru and Liz were gd friends in the show... they look like opposites on the outside, yet had to each their own unique charms. Her fluent Japanese and dancing skills stunned me lor haha... I only know she's an actress, but she's so gd! Her Eng sounds ok too. Stephanie the Grace acted as a dance助教 inside. Sadly didn't get to see her dance, cos all her dance on "X-Men" were so gd~ she's a gd dancer, esp ballet o.
Last of all, even though DBSK's only sorta a "Calefare" in the movie... appearing for only like less than 20secs, I still have to say... all of them looked better than the male lead la! There were close-ups of Hero, Max and Xiah, but nt U-Know and Micky. They sang the Jap version of "The Way U Are" on stage, and then QW was asking why they chose tat song... I think it's to tell Subaru "the way she is" ba lol.
One disappointment though... I quite liked the backgrd musics used in the movie. But, DBSK's "Bolero", though deemed as the theme song, only appeared in one small part of the movie... and they cut nt the nicest part of the song somemore~ I tot the part whr Subaru did her final dance on stage,
they shld put the澎湃part of "Bolero" as backgrd music mah! Wasted la!Rating: 3.25/5
