Backdate: Korea Jeju Jun 2019 Day 4
20/6/19 Thurs: PotaTOHs had our breakfast at GS 25 convenience store at 8am. I tried their instant Japanese udon (2000 KRW) while Potato had the cheese ramen (1600 KRW)... not bad. Refilled our car on the road and it was about 32K KRW for about half a tank.
We parked at the carpark right outside산방사 (Sanbangsa Temple) for 2K KRW. Right beside it was Sanbangulsa temple. There were rows of Arhat there, and南极老星尊者. It is a blessing to "knock heads with his", so I did~
It was said that the peak of Hallasan where Baekkrokho Lake now exists was taken off and thrown away, and it became Sanbangsan Mountain (395m lava dome). Sanbangulsa Grotto was nested in the middle of the mountain, and hence we had to climb about 20minutes' up (my legs and thighs haven't recovered fully from yesterday though~). There was a ticket office for us to buy tickets into the 5m-high rock cave, but sadly Yongmeongri Coast was not opened due to high tide until 2pm, so we each only paid 1K KRW to visit Sanbangulsa Grotto.
We were there to have their "Earthern pot" which consisted of abalone and other seafood (16K KRW)~ 海鲜很多,很鲜、很新鲜~ I had the spicy soup-based one while Potato had the non-spicy one. So glad we found this shop and it was near to our Airbnb too!

Myth has it that the daughter of Sanbangsan reincarnated as the child of an old couple who came to the altar to pray for kids, and hence this place became known as a place of worship to couples who want to have kids too. We saw a monk and two other ladies talking when we walked up the cave, where there's a huge buddha statue and some cave water that dripped down from the Grotto, believed to be the tears of Sanbangdoek, Goddess of the Sanbangsa. I drank a spoonful, but Potato was skeptical, so he did not.
We walked along the surrounding, and visited a model of Hamel's ship. He is apparently the Dutch who lived in Jeju for 13 years after a shipwreck and first spreaded words of Korea to the Western world.
The weather was very hot and I was somewhat pek cek, so Potato and I stopped for a bread with hotdog and mayo (3000 KRW) at Dragon Hotdog café... yummy! *He penned down PotaTOHs' visit on the wall too hehe~*
Continued our drive towards O'Sulloc Tea Museum. We parked at a carpark opposite the museum and walked over. There were many visitors shopping for their tea of course, as well as at their café.
We bought the wedding green tea box (30K KRW), green tea box of biscuits (30K KRW), and enjoyed hi-tea at their café. There was Jeju green tea with tangerine, matcha millecrepe and sweet roll for 19,300 KRW). Loved the tea and millecrepe, but the roll could be a little less sweet. *Thanks for queuing Potato.* Wanted to visit Jeju Innisfree flagship store, but it was closed for renovation till August. Well, so we took some photos at the green tea field~ 茶香四溢neh!
After that, brought Potato to Jeju Glass Castle (22K KRW for 2 pax entry) at 3+pm. There were some new additions to the place as compared to 6 years ago, like the blowing studio and the forest maze.
Two big kids sure had their fun times at the mirror maze, jewellery tunnel and eternal promise ring area. There were some really beautiful glass displays at the God of Glass museum too. *How I wish I could own those miniature glass displays and horse displays at home!*
It was fun to explore the brand new Magical Forest (Gotjawal) section. The walk through took about 30 minutes I think, and it was cooling and pretty quiet as there weren't many people around.
We each used three coins to throw intot the different bowls there, and mine got into "success", he's went into "health", and we both got "love" keke~ We walked into their small café later, and there were some really pretty miniature displays that I felt so tempted to buy but don't know if they are for sale honestly~
Did not have a hands-on glass art experience after some consideration as the ones I wanted to try were not cheap, and you probably need some days before you can collect your end product. I think it's a pretty nice touristy spot with few visitors, and if I got a chance to visit again, I'd try going in the night as there are some light displays too.
We were done by 5pm, and instead of Burim Land Jimjilbang (我刚好不方便去~), PotaTOHs found out a good seafood dinner spot at Jeju Ttukbaegi! We were early, so there was only another group of Singaporean beside us when we went in.
It was still a bit early for us, so we decided to drive to the pretty Starbucks not far away. Ordered a venti-sized hot choco (6300 KRW) to share and we relaxed by a corner on the second floor. I'm never a fan of coffee, much less Starbucks, but we'd passed by this Starbucks a few times while driving and thought the exterior was pretty.
