BACKDATE: MAURITIUS JUN 2023 DAY 4

9/6/23 Fri: We woke up at 6+am and my quadricep muscles ached so badly I could not squat nor walk properly down the stairs lol! We checked out by 9.15am to drive over to our new Airbnb, Royal Creek Residence (S$488.78 for four pax for four nights) in Flic en Flac. It was a 45 minute drive Northwards and we refilled 40% of the patrol (rs1160) on the way.

I communicated with the owner Ashley via Whatsapp call as well, and she was very nice to have her staff brought us up to our unit on the second floor of the condominium located next to a university. He did a great job of introducing the place to us and it was pretty and comfortable.

We drove out to Cascavelle shopping centre, where they had Winners mart, nearby for lunch at 11.30am. Settled for mine bouille (boiled noodles) at Mr Miyagi Noodle Bar. I had mine with chicken char siew (rs165) and Potato had his with teriyaki chicken (rs165). It was not bad and almost everything went well with their green chilli sauce haha!

After an hour of lunch, we drove over to the Alexandra Waterfall Viewpoint at Black River Gorges National Park, but a road junction was closed for construction halfway, so we had to u-turn and take another route...

It was raining when we arrived at 1.30pm. Not much views through the mist...
Then, we decided to take a two-hour hiking route on one of the trails into the "unknown" haha, albeit we only walked for 30 minutes or so before making our way back to drive over to Gorges Viewpoint instead.
There was a small market place outside before we walked to the viewpoint area. It was very pretty when the sun came out. Also saw the Black River Peak Trail that PotaTOHs planned to do initially, but given the condition of my legs and the weather... forget it la lol.
Saw rainbows a few times when we drove back around 4.30pm! After resting for a bit, we headed to the Flic en Flac beach nearby to watch the sunset at 5+pm and to eat dinner at a Chinese restaurant called Ah Youn restaurant at 6pm.
I ordered their bee hoon soup (with chicken and shrimp) and Potato ordered their “magic bowl” (pork with shrimp). Both of us preferred the magic bowl but WS liked the bee hoon soup more. WL liked the “sweet and sour pork” which is cooked with oyster sauce but no where sour. It's still not bad. Costed us rs870 in total and after paying the bill, we were still seated there waiting for the change but they thought we'd give them tips, until the waitress unwillingly nudged her colleague to return us the change.
We bought some craft beers and other snacks from Winners mart (rs587) earlier and I thought my raspberry-flavoured one was quite nice.
