Backdate: Chiang Mai trip Dec 2017 Day 1

5/12/17 Tues: I changed SGD1K to THB 24,000 for PotaTOH's 10D9N trip to Chiang Mai. Return trip on Scoot was about S$450 per pax. We hopped onto TR674 at 2.20pm, and reached Chiang Mai airport at local time 4.15pm (Chiang Mai is an hour behind Singapore).

We took Uber (210 baht) from the airport to Houzzel360, our Airbnb for 6 nights (S$160), after getting a SIM card each (499 baht) at the airport.
It was not far from the The Phae Gate, inside a small alley, and there's a bar right beside our stay. Good thing it wasn't noisy. It's only a room with a mattress, and shared shower and toilet was outside on the same floor. They provide new towels daily, and the auntie would prepare simple breakfast for us daily too, inclusive in the price.
After we put our things down, PotaTOHs went for a walk, exploring night life in Chiang Mai. The famous Chiang Mai Night Bazaar was a 20 minutes' walk away, so we made our way there for anything THAI for dinner!

Passed River Ping, the longest river in Chiang Mai, lots of bars (many Caucasians around), street stalls, and then finally Kalare Night Bazaar appeared before sight! We were pretty hungry, and randomly stepped into Good Corner restaurant and bar for dinner. *Sleepy Potato caught off-guard keke~*
He had their phad thai, which was yummy, but my fried rice was only so-so. He know I loves Enoki shrooms so we ordered that too, and of course, my all-time fav Thai dish: tom yam goong! Dinner costed us 450 baht and it was dear's treat hehe~ thanks!
Satisfied after dinner, we walked around the area and passed by their Muslim street.
Walked into Ploen Ruedee Night Market by chance. It's not a big market but there was live singing performance, breakdancing and lots of food. I saw fried insects but no courage to try that haha.

We came across a stall that sells Sangria (160 baht). He said he'd try before a super nice one in UK, so he wanted me to try it... but yup it's just alcohol for me lor keke. Anyway, he thought this was only okay.
We had金针菇猪肉串 (150 baht), and banana choco crepe (80 baht) to satisfy his cravings for something sweet~ Then, we continued walking, and shopped Anusarn market. Bought ourselves our first pair of couple tee ("music boy and girl") for 460 baht.
Somehow we didn't know that our Airbnb provides water, so we bought 6 litres of mineral water (43 baht) the first night, and carried it back haha.
