Backdate: Norway, Sweden, Finland Nov - Dec 2025 Day 12
8/12/25 Mon: We had breakfast at 8.15am~ the meatballs were my favourite on the plate haha, but the surprising good one was the celery + pineapple + green apple juice on the left! I loved it.
We checked out at 9am and reached Oulu airport 15 minutes later for our flight to Helsinki. Potato performed for our tour mates while waiting for our flight and everybody enjoyed! <3 Even a two-month old baby boy stopped crying after he played haha~It was a propeller plane and I sat with Gladys. Had a good chat with her throughout that 1.5-hour journey. *We were getting used to the cold more and more haha!* Potato sat two rows ahead of me. When we were approaching at 12.30pm, I felt the descend was a bit sudden for me.Kee told us to settle lunch in the airport at 1pm. Potato saw this boxed sushi for Euro 12.45 (S$18.9). The rice was a bit tough but Asian food FTW lol. At 1.45pm, we boarded the bus to the city to begin our Helsinki city tour. The guide spoke pretty fast.Saw their Orthodox Cathedral which was quite pretty. We were also near the sea so it was cold when the wind blows, even if the temperature was above 0 degrees Celcius! We were given some time to enter the Helsinki Cathedral and to take photos around.
There was also the huge Christmas market which we did not have time to visit haiz, but it was pretty so we took some photos for remembrance sake too.Hopped back on the bus and the above's their parliament building I think. We then visited the Sibelius Monument. Jean Sibelius was a famous musician from Finland and it was his birthday today too. The guide said Finland also just celebrated their 180th Independence Day.It was shopping time for us from 3.45 to 5.25pm. Helsinki has very pretty streets, but the sky was still cloudy, hence no chance of aurora. PotaTOHs went to three stores before I found the boutique Seed shampoo and bodywash (EUR 45.9) that I liked a lot from Halo Igloos. *Not sure if it's psychological or the smell changed a bit once back in Singapore? I prefer it when I was there haha.*So happy we had personal hotpot for dinner in a Chinese restaurant from 5.30 to 7pm. There were lots of ingredients to choose from so we ate till very full. I really liked this because 30sLGEgang were happily eating together with YH and Lina! The cost was included in the tour but I think it would have been about S$40+ per person. *The snow mochi was delicious!*
Checked into Hilton hotel at 7.30pm but kns, the complimentary water was only for higher tier members. The place looked a bit dated but it was okay for two nights. 30sLGEgang HTHT-ed in Sidney and WS's room, but PotaTOHs were sleepy by 9.15pm and left then.
