Backdate: Norway, Sweden, Finland Nov - Dec 2025 Day 13 & 14
9/12/25 Tues: Here's the breakfast situation at 8.15am. It was quite crowded because there were two other LGE groups too I think, and Anthony even met his friends there. Among the food, I only liked the lingonberry haha.
Half an hour later at 9.30am, we arrived at the ferry terminal for our MyStar cruise towards Estonia, Tallinn! It's my first time taking a cruise. I didn’t know the ferry was so big… it could load cars even. We boarded at 10am and it departed at 10.30am.
It was a two-hour ride to Tallinn and very windy on the deck! Potato, me, Sidney, WS, YH and Lina took a photo of us standing on the transparent deck woo~The sun was nice! Gracie felt seasick not long after boarding, so we found a corner to rest in the cruise. I was lying down in a airy area since it was too cold outside... enjoying my view of the sky and handsome Potato haha~ *Lying down somehow helps reduce sea sickness leh I think, albeit I’m okay throughout.*
PotaTOHs found a game of “huge dry scallops” at one corner... the aim was to keep bouncing them into your opponent's area to win… he won both times hmph keke~ Sidney, WS, Lina and YH also joined in the fun later.
We got ready to off board at 12.30pm. Alexandria was our guide on the bus to Tallinn Old Town. He spoke very fast but still clear.
There's the oldest hotel in Tallinn. Here we’re at the Upper City, featuring the Orthodox Cathedral of Aleksander Nevsky. Almost looks like a combination of church and mosque for me.
Stopped in front of the Parliament of Estonia. Across the road was the Orthodox Cathedral and we were given five mins to go for a quick look inside. Men have to remove hats and beanies before entering though. Here, we were overlooking the Lower Town, and wandering through the streets...
After some nice pictures, we walked down to the Lower Town, where the merchants used to be.
Soon, we saw the famous Christmas market. But things look similar after a while. We only had about 45 minutes or so to shop and eat before we need to gather at 3.30pm or so.
Potato wanted to get Danish pancakes … 10 for €7. It was sweet. He also bought the pork Schnitzel for €15, which I prefer the fries and preserved veggies haha. The 15% rum glogg (€7) was too much for me. It drizzled, so we had to eat under some shelters. I also saw pretty amber crystal earrings at oneof the carts, but they were rather pricey. Took the bus and ended our half-day tour in Tallinn very soon.
Took Megastar, which included our EUR 36 buffet dinner per person, which departed at 4.30pm. There was free flow red wine, white wine and local beer. *Poor Gracie got motion sickness again during dinner~ I was okay, (maybe because I was already experiencing PPPD lol, but Potato also almost felt it.*
Walked around the big cruise after that, and PotaTOHs went up the deck at one point but it was so freezing cold we went in soon after haha. Bought socks for LL, Ahna and Jess, magnets for our home and mugs for YB (EUR42.2) before leaving.10/12/25 Weds: Got up early at 4.30am and left at 5am with packed breakfast because we were heading home! Got to Helsinki airport in half an hour but failed to do tax refund. It was not a huge amount so it’s okay. Boarded Finnair for 7.20am departure.
Arrived at Oslo airport about 1hour 40 minutes later and PotaTOHs ate cup noodles at 9.30am shiok! Potato walked all the way to help boil water using our own kettle~ thank you! The Ippudo cup noodle was very nice.
Took a group photo with Kee and some of our tour group mates before we boarded the plane to Doha! He’s been nice to us. It was PotaTOHs' first trip with a tour agency and we met many nice people, so it was overall a good experience! My talented mao performing Gracie and Anthony's "song" at 12.45pm for us again~ Now I don't know how but I lost my printed boarding pass while walking, and ended up having to leave the departure lounge, go back out and re-enter after printing it at the lobby again. It was hectic.
Very packed at the waiting area before boarding QR 176 at 3.10pm. A photo of the sunset while on the way to Doha. I sat with YH and Lina. It was quite a calm flight throughout, but seriously couldn't stand the Thai girl, who looked about 10 years old, that sat behind my seat. She kept "punching" her screen when playing games and kicking onto my chair, so damn I couldn't even rest my eyes. Worse thing? Her mum, who's seated along the aisle, was not even taking her daughter in hand. Lina told the mum but she just gave a blank stare... what an idiot.Had chicken noodles which was meh. Arrived at Doha airport at 11+pm and waited for the Singapore leg. We checked in QR 948 at 1.15am.
Ate chicken curry on Doha to SG flight. It was quite bumpy over the India sea that area omg~ Nearing home, we took a photo of the jet-lagged us after two weeks haha~ Touched down at 3.15pm at T1. Shared Grab with Anthony and Gracie ($22.5 per couple) at 4+pm and finally got home at 5pm or so. I was so floaty and sleepy and had some UTI issues after that. But Potato still cooked dinner~ love you <3!
