Backdate: Malaysia Kuala Lumpur, Malacca Dec 2024 Day 5 & 6

26/12/24 Thurs: Farmily had buffet breakfast at Monkey Canopy from 9 to 10.30am. It was meh. We checked out at 11am. *Not the best idea to go to a family resort on Christmas lol... too packed for anything.* Then we drove down to Malacca and arrived at Estadia Hotel at 1pm. Left our luggage with the staff since we're too early for check in and grabbed a car to Jonker street.

We had lunch later at Jonker 88 from 2 to 2.45pm. There was a queue but only took about 15 minutes and we could go in. Potato ate their sour Nonya laksa while Ian had the spicy Baba laksa. My fav was the mixed one!

Ordered their cChendol and it was shiok. Not usually a fan of such desserts in Singapore because it's more expensive. Then. Fran recommended we go for some "authenic"龟苓膏 haha~

It was bitter omg lol. While we were beating the heat in the air-con eatery, we decided to make a reservation for escape room play at Lost in Melaka. *the amount of cars and traffic at Jonker street was scary la... and there's Potato having fun haha~*

After about 15 minutes of walk, we were at Lost in Melaka to make the booking for the 1.5 hour Harry Potter-themed escape room game in the evening. We had some time in between, so we sat down at a bar and chilled by the river from 4 to 5.30pm. My watermelon juice sure helped with the humidity~ It was nice to people-watch too.

The escape room game was rather fun. We were "led in" by a professor and he asked some "dumb" questions in class before we began our "treasure hunting". *four different kinds of students in class lol~* Everything took place on the second floor of the building and we had to clean up some areas, use "magic wands" to reveal certain messages etc. We played from 6.15 to 7.20pm, so it was completed in slightly over an hour! Success for Ian’s virgin escape room experience haha!

Made our way over to Four Wolf Canteen at Jonker for Japanese cuisine at 7.30pm. I had the salmon ikura don which was so-so. Fran ate some giant salmon sushi and Ian and Potato had some sushi. We were not impressed at all.
Done at 8.15pm and we walked past a rather cool alley. Decided to sit there for some drinks since it was much cooler outside at night. The cocktails at Tipsy Bridge went for RM 18 each and we were there from 8.45 to 10+pm! *The music they played was so… our era haha.*
I had Moonriver. It was Ring of Fire for Potato, White rabbit for Fran and Long Island for Ian. Again, just chilling since the night is young...
Got back at 10.45pm and moved our luggage to our rooms. The design is nice, but really just good for sleeping haha.

27/12/24 Fri: Saw some promotion yesterday and decided to eat breakfast at the hotel's lounge at 10.30am. Sadly, the toast set was not nice. Kaya too sweet.

Checked out at 12pm and began the drive back to Singapore. While we were on the way to lunch, we were confused by the map for a bit and drove into another exit, so Ian had to make a big U-turn back onto the highway and to our lunch stop at 3.15pm.

Potato and I were not too hungry, so we shared the nasi goreng seafood (RM12), which was better than Uncle Roger’s I thought haha. Also shared iced bandung (RM2.5).

Left at 4pm and experienced slight jam at the custom while driving back and that took about 20 to 30 minutes. Back in Singapore at 4.45pm and it was an enjoyable Farmily trip! *Spent about S$600 per pax for everything I think?*
