Backdate: Norway, Sweden, Finland Nov - Dec 2025 Day 5

1/12/25 Mon: Woke up at 5+am, so got up at 6am for breakfast at 7am. It was also snowing outside too. There was a long queue but we still got our food and sat beside Anthony and Gracie. The Turkey meatballs were nice. Still pretty dark when we departed at 8am.

In between, we stopped at a scenic post so I did star-jumps, and got the others to follow suit in the quiet and snowy morning! The frozen columns of ice were pretty. *Potato looked like a stickman in the second-last photo lol.*
At 10am or so, we arrived in the middle of a forest to have our snowmobiling session! Wore extra suits to brave the cold before the mass briefing on how to operate the snowmobiles. Kee helped all 31 tour members to take photos and videos before we went off and when we came back.

It was only a 30 minutes ride to and fro, but it was very cold at -13 degrees Celcius. PotaTOHs did snowmobiled in Iceland in summer before, but this felt colder. My right hand was prickly and numb after 10 seconds without gloves as I took it out on and off to take photos and videos. It took me 5 minutes to feel it again after putting it back in the glove omg. But the views were amazing...

Even if I was wearing wollen socks in my winter boots, I still felt they went a bit numb. Potato the driver was poor thing too because his helmet cover kept fogging up when he put them down, so he ended up lifting them a bit but had to tolerate the chill blowing straight onto his face~
At halfway mark, we stopped to take a break and made snow angels haha~ only Gracie didn't want to dirty her winter wear so she skipped it. It was quite shiok honestly!
Also saw some huskies on our drive back. After that, we removed the gears, went for toilet break and left for lunch. It was Mr Kee’s recommendation that we had burgers at House of Burger for lunch at 1.45pm.

I ordered the Tasty chicken burger which was really good! The chicken nuggets were not bad too, but Potato's chicken wrap was only okay. The bill was 379 nok (S$48.75). Then, we saw a second aurora at 5pm during another break.

Weird mentos drinks there in a convenience store but I bought the aloe peach drink (S$6.83) to try and it tasted artificial lol. Saw our third and dancing aurora at 7pm while on the way to our hotel at Svolvær. It was the prettiest and almost the last we saw on our trip this time haha.
Checked into Thon Hotel Svolvær at 7.45pm. The room was better than our previous stays.
Six of us went exploring. The streets were quiet but so pretty with snow everywhere. We were very hungry at 8.30pm and as Anthony and some of us were craving for rice and Asian food, we ended up in a Chinese restaurant你好for an hour haha.
PotaTOHs ate fried rice and spicy sour soup (370 nok, S$45). It was more peppery for the soup but it got better for me towards the end. The fried rice was okay. The waiter spoke more to us seeing we could speak mandarin and they have been there for a few years I think. The four of them could eat more, so they shared four dishes.
The view outside the restaurant, which was where the pier was, was pretty.
While walking back at 9.45pm, Sidney suddenly decided to build a Snowman haha. It was hard to build with soft snow, and so it ended up looking like some四不像lol. But we give credit to Anthony because the miniature artist's "finishing touches" made the Snowman looked slightly better haha!
Slept near 12am and I warmed my feet using the light before that~ quite shiok.
