Backdate: Khao Kho trip Aug 2018 Day 3

24/8/18 Fri: Woke up to such a morning sight~ not bad! Had chicken porridge for breakfast which was provided by the resort, and we left for BN farm at about 10am.
Maybe it wasn't the season for flowers, so there weren't any tourist when we were there. Two auntie workers were helpful in naming the different flowers around where they were working, and where we were taking photos. *Such pretty hydrangeas! Wished I could have them haha~*
Took about 20 minutes for us to walk one round, and we went to try the famous ice-creams sold there. Jess and I bought a scoop of strawberry (45 baht), lychee (45 baht) and whisky-plum (45 baht) ice-cream~ yes they were yummy! I think my favourite was the lychee flavoured one.
Then, we also bought packets of dried prunes and tamarinds (400 baht) to bring home. *Oh my parents loved them!* As I was feeling a bit "throaty", I also got this roselle drink, which Wit recommended. It was a bit sour though.
Went to Route 12, a coffee place with retro theme. Nobody was there except us, and we only got a cup of hot latte (40 baht) to try.
Took quite a few photos around the area, and also saw a poor 3-legged horse laying outside. The weather was not bad though.
Nothing much to do there, and as we have got some time, Jess googled and found Elephant House View café, which was in Phitsanulok province. I think it was only about a 20 minutes' drive, so we went there hoping for some lunch and to pass time. It was filled with people, but there was a nice ambience and simplicity to that café.
It began to drizzle when we were there, and honestly, the view at the lake wasn't anything spectacular, so we stayed in, posed around for photos and had lunch. We ordered the tom yam seafood pasta for me, while Jess shared Hawaiian pizza with Wit (370 baht). Average meal.
Then, we set off for our next destination which was Wat Prathat Phasornkaew. I was already in awe with the gigantic Buddha statue I saw online before going to Khao Kho, so I reckon we must visit the place. It was a drive up into the higher area, and hence the fog you see below. We parked the park and walked to the different temples, where visitors had to take off their shoes.
Good thing the weather wasn't too bad, and so the visibility was good at some point of time after the clouds passed by.
Made our prayers, and as a Thai Buddhist custom, we made donations and got some golden foil papers, which Wit taught us to follow him and paste it on the statues of Buddhas and big metal balls (each balls represent a Buddha if I did not remember wrongly). *The wind was strong and the foils can fly away pretty easily if we did not stick it properly.*
After that, we walked over to the other temple beside and explored it. It was created with beautiful mosaic tiles, probably one of the prettiest and different-looking one I've been to till now.
Saw the "Friday Buddha" inside one of the halls, and yup I was born on a Friday. Climbed up to the second and third floor and we could see the big Buddha statue across.
Their toilets were also very clean. After leaving the temple, I bought myself a white tee for 100 baht nearby where we parked, and Wit drove us further in to Pino Latte, where it's known for it's pretty views and our dinner of course. *Some Caucasians took photos of us too haha.*
Upon going in, the café was on the left, as well as an alfresco area overlooking the mountains, some resorts and the Buddha statue from a distance away. Very cooling and the view makes people feel very relaxed.
Oh and of course there came the evening sunset, and we had to wear shades to block it. Hurried over to the restaurant to the right, and I had the Bolognese spicy pork pasta (170 baht per person)... not bad.

Did star jumps against the pretty view as momento! We ended our day like this, and waited for Wit to finish his puff before we drove back to Phu Sandao resort. He played with the stray dogs while we waited for the jeep.
Quite misty after the sun set, which was cooling and nice. We tipped the driver uncle 50 baht as it was our last night of stay there.
