Backdate: Khao Kho trip Aug 2018 Day 2

23/8/18 Thurs: As I didn’t really sleep the first night, I woke up to my alarm to catch the sunrise in the morning cold. Then again, the minute I opened the curtain, I knew there weren’t be a “picturesque view” given that it rained badly at night. Yes, it was very foggy outside. Somehow though, our shoes, the chairs, table and dustbin outside our room had not moved at all! They were wet, but they remained the same despite the crazy noise we heard at night.

We had our complimentary breakfast, and I chose their local breakfast which is made up of crabstick meat, scrambled eggs, minced meat and shrooms. Jess had the porridge.
Took some photos just outside the dining area, and there were also a number of locals visiting Khao Kho too.
Check-out has to be done by 11am, so we decided to leave with Wit soon after taking photos. It was drizzling along the way down to Story Cup by Coffee Hill, which we’d planned for some tea-break session. The road that was closed previously was now opened, and as some pavements were broken and roads were muddy, Wit was nice enough to do a “live camera” of his drive downwards, to inform other FB users on his page of the condition there.
Story Cup by Coffee Hill is one of the famous cafes there, for its decorations and views. It’s a pity the area wasn’t “misty” as it was said to be seen on it’s 360 degrees deck, but we still had a good time taking photos there. *There were many cats too! A place I’m sure Potato would like too~*
We also ordered a pandan cake (75 baht) and shrimp balls (90 baht) to share as snacks. They served us complimentary blue pea drinks which was nice! I ended up buying some postcards, a small container of blue pea powder and some snacks (330 baht) before leaving the place.
Next, we went to Wind Turbine Khao Kho, a large area with many Wind Turbines (super windy~), and the entrance fees were at 60 baht per person. We hopped onto their shuttle tram for a leisure ride into the park!

Apparently, there were two stops to which they will drive us to before making the round back to the entrance. We followed others and alighted at the first stop, paid 40 baht per person to go into a mini “scenery farm” called Black Diamond. Took lots of photos inside and I saw horses! *Bought a photo momento of myself for 100 baht.*
We did not alight at the second stop as there seemed nothing much there, and so we left the wind turbine farm. Wit walked us over to the Verbena farm nearby. We took photos with the pretty flowers, and Jess tried her best to balance on the big swing haha. *I’d love to try but I was wearing a dress…*

Still, how can I miss out on posing there with such nice views of nature! *The weather was hot, so I bought a thai milk tea for 40 baht to quench my thirst.*
After that, Wit drove us to Phu Sandao resort, where we’d booked Jamroll 4 online to stay for 2 nights (2500 baht per person). It wasn’t an easy path in, and the inroads were tight at one point, so Wit found out that the staff from Phu Sandao resort would drive out on jeep to take us over to the resort, which was another 2km of bumpy drive inside.
And yes Phu Sandao resort did not disappoint! The views outside our bedroom were pretty~ even if it meant no stars at night.
We rested for a while, and left for Khao Takhian Ngo View Point at about 4.30pm, so as to catch the sunset. We reached pretty early, stayed inside the car to shun the heat, and Wit told us how he bought 3kgs worth of avocados for only 100 baht!
There’s one cute dog in the area, and quite a few view points. A pity the clouds were very thick, and hence we did not get to see a “full-blown” sunset.
The sky was dark by the time we were nearby Phu Sandao resort and while waiting for their driver, Wit lighted up his car interior which looked pretty cool!
We had dinner back at the resort, and my tom yam chicken with rice (110 baht) was only so-so.
And the ladies had a good night's chat, recounting on our pasts before turning in~
