Bungee workout trial class w HT + zichar for Parents' day dinner +《逐玉》+ Bukit Batok Nature Park w Potato + Ajumma's w Justin + Rummikub with parents
18/5/26 Mon: Did reformer in Margareth's class with Linh this morning and it's my last class with them as I've used up all 30 credits from the current package. Should be trying a new package at One Pilates nearer Batok next, as well as trial classes at FS8 Hillview. *Potato went to see a doctor for his lower back muscle strain and it doesn't seem like he's better on the third day yet. Fingers crossed he gets better asap!*
19/5/26 Tues: Met HT at Elin Studio for our bungee fitness trial class this morning. The Korean instructor HJ had to help with harnesses and adjustments for eight students, in which six are first-timers including me... who hadn't done bungee fitness in a while.
HT and I stood at the back and I liked how spacious it was compared to D Fly's studio at Chinese Garden. HJ taught us a variety of moves which I thought were suitable for beginners, but it was also a cardio workout because I'd been sweating halfway through haha~ She gave us a break in the middle which HT thought was good. I liked how HJ helped us take videos too of the simple choreography we did. A pity the studio's venue at Labrador Park's just too out of the way for me, even if they have a promotion package of $299 for 10 classes. I will miss the workout and hopefully, some bungee fitness studio with ample space appears in the west soon. *Ouch my inner thighs are starting to ache now~*
Potato cooked cold soba with miso soup, tobiko and Japanese cucumber and the pork gyoza from Don Don Donki~ oh so good!20/5/26 Weds: Aerial class with Nishy this morning was easy but I probably still need to train on my arm strength more haha.
Steamed chicken with mushrooms and Taiwanese noodles for dinner, but I probably should have steamed one of the pieces longer because Potato saw it slightly pinkish for his~ oops. He also said the boneless chicken pieces at Sheng Shiong nowadays are bigger than before, which was probably why.
21/5/26 Thurs: Ate zi char for parents' day dinner. Glad to hear mum's new cleaning job seemed not bad for her.
22/5/26 Fri: Yay Potato tried a new recipe for dinner~ he cooked squid with celery, red onion, garlic, shimeiji shrooms and spring onions in garlic oil~ Mediterranean style spaghetti! It was more on the sour side to create a “summer” feel, but he felt the squid tasted like it was detached from the pasta. Adding Tabasco sauce enhanced the taste further!
23/5/26 Sat: Decided to have tau kee pork belly hotpot~ we added cabbage, shimeiji shrooms, egg, carrots and sweet potato noodles in too. The ponzu base dipping sauce worked great for the dish as it was blander than I thought.
Finished watching the hyped-drama《逐玉》on Netflix!
Rating: 4/5
25/5/26 Mon: Cooked hot soba, lentils, egg, egg and chives dumplings, shimeiji and shiitake mushrooms and added edamame as Potato suggested. The meal was not entirely meatless because I decided to include one century egg and pork dumpling for each of us haha. He also added the seaweed flakes later and it complemented the dish.
26/5/26 Tues: Potato cooked hamburg with cabbage, sushi rice and carrot miso soup for dinner! The sauce that he added tomato sauce to try to mimic Worcestershire sauce was a little too sweet though.
27/5/26 Weds: PotaTOHs walked to Bukit Batok Nature Park from our place~ took us 45minutes as we strolled there in the morning. Then, spent another hour or so in the small park since the weather was good too. Saw one Komodo dragon. Also did the "foot massage" but maybe age is catching up or something but it felt more painful than when I used to do it last time! *It’s been a while since I did forest-bathing and I do miss it to a certain extent.* Recommended the 52 prawn noodles at Bukit Timah Food Centre to him for lunch and nice to know he found it not bad too.
Potato cooked chicken and mushroom cream stew for dinner tonight. It was not jelak at all and the mushroom soup had celery, maiitake, cherry tomatoes and Japanese cucumber slices added to it too~ we left not a single drop haha!28/5/26 Thurs: Barre-less Barre class this morning with Agnes and my legs were tired after the session haha! It was a really good sweat-out and flow session~
Had a good dinner at my parents’… 煎黄鱼~
29/5/26 Fri: Treated Justin to lunch at Ajumma’s at Westgate. Tried the seafood crab jampong noodle ($19.9+) which was so-so. Their fried pork dumplings ($7.5+) was not bad though. He had japchae ($13.9+). Then, he treated me to barley drink at Yakun and we caught up quite a bit on each other’s life.
PotaTOHs visited Parc Point for the first time. Met Anthony and Gracie and had pork intestines soup and braised pork intestines for dinner at their food court. Also visited the NTUC Fairprice but there were not many shops there.
30/5/26 Sat: Went over to my parents' in the afternoon to teach them to play Rummikub. It's basically math and I wanted to spend more time with them. It felt really nice that three hours, though dad kept forgetting he has to wait for the next round to place a tile after drawing a card lol. I won one round and mum won the last one too nice~
I love dinner tonight, especially the cabbage and winter gourd soup Potato cooked with carrots, red dates, mushrooms, scallop, chicken stock, chicken mid-joint wings, a little bit of MSG, salt and pepper! The steamed crab legs FIL bought was a bit salty as usual. The cold Japanese cucumber dish with his own-made marinated chilli sauce was refreshing too.
31/5/26 Sun: Potato cooked minced pork meat, maiitake and celery with spaghetti in tomato sauce for dinner~ ooo he browned the pork meat so well it was very flavourful!
