Backdate: Johor Bahru Mar 2026 Day 1

19/3/26 Thurs: It was the school holidays and 30sLGEgang made plans to travel to JB together for a 3D2N-stay~ My first time taking the train over from Woodlands customs and it took us less than five minutes to arrive. *My PPPD was pretty bad during this period of time so I was just feeling floaty on and off while seated down argh!*

Our first stop was to take a Grab over to Otto cafe known for it's pretty interior. Think Gracie found it and the food was not bad too.

The mushroom soup was thick and nice! The batter for the fish and chips got too salty for me after a while though. After that, we grabbed over to R and F mall for our escape room play at Obscura at 2pm. Ate some meh desserts during out wait. 

Feeling all jittery because it was Potato and my first try in a "mild horror" escape room experience and involving NPCs too. I found it randomly online just a week or so before the trip and the rest were keen to try too, albeit it's a bit expensive at S$50+ per person to go for the 90minutes of escape room experience. They had only two games and we played山神庙. Each of us were assigned a number before going in and Potato's one had a solo mission he had to complete by himself~ so brave~

We were brought into a really dark space, sat down and "went back in time" to this village where the temple is. Followed the lights etc and无名appeared. He was the one who brought us around the rather tiny and dim area. Anthony and Gracie were the first two to do their mission together and we could hear them screaming lol. *Many jump scares here and there omg lol and man I was ready to “self defend” with my right leg when the ghost came close once LOL!*  

The NPCs would chase us etc and honestly I was scared at first but after a while, I think I was screaming for the sake of screaming lol. I followed Sidney and WS for their missions because I had none, and that was when we were put into a small crate and lifted up in mid-air... pretending it was the "ghost" that lifted us omg~ Sidney "free fall" onto a cushion area after that and she cried because the NPC scared her too much~ even无名didn't know how to console her lol, so we took a small break.

Overall, the mechanisms were quite cool, the effects and music were nice and the actors were also quite good in their acting~

Checked in to our Airbnb at Paragon Suites on the 30th floor~ so they were adjoining units, so Anthony and Gracie took the room next door. One could see the future RTS system from the balcony, but there's this weird sewage smell coming from their bathrooms. PotaTOHs had the master, so we had a small window in the toilet, but not Anthony and Gracie's toilet.

Ended up at a Raya Bazaar for dinner. I liked the chao ta cabbage from the rice set PotaTOHs shared. The halal tteok-bokki was too spicy for me but not bad. The shawarma was only okay. After that, we went to walk in the shopping mall. I bought some undies while Potato found his walking shoes in Decathlon and swopped the old ones for the new pair straightaway~

The gang bought some beer and chips for our late-night food show gathering haha~
