Backdate: Norway, Sweden, Finland Nov - Dec 2025 Day 8

4/12/25 Thurs: Had breakfast at 8am and the restaurant was packed. It's the usual western spread we have in Europe in the mornings. Departed at 9am for Narvik Station and reached there at 9.15am.

Spent 15 minutes in the station. The floors were kind of slippery as it was between ice and snow. It's unfortunate the Arctic train is under maintenance today, so we did not get to take that to Sweden. Took photos with the group in front of the model section of the train.
We took our coach to Sweden instead and went past the Sweden crossing at 10.15am. There was no time difference. Saw some wild reindeers on the way too.

Some took a toilet break here while I was there to enjoy the scenery. It was a cool morning and I always love the frozen wintery scenery. Anthony was smoking not far away, and as I took photos for the married Jenny and our driver, she pretended to give him a "kiss"~ omg both Anthony and I were a bit stunned by that haha!

Driven to Arctic Thai and Grill for lunch at 12.30pm. Quite a long queue and there was another LGE tour group with us inside the restaurant. Also have free salad bar which was so-so.

I ate pad Thai pork while he had the chicken one (250 Swedish nok, S$34.51). The portions were huge and the taste was not and, albeit nothing like the traditional ones we know of. Also had Lingonberry for the first time there and we loved it! Left at 1.45pm towards Lapland View Lodge. It was a long drive, so there was a toilet break in between too.

At 5.45pm, we arrived at Lapland View Lodge. Went down to the reception with our overnight bags because we were advised to leave our luggage on the bus due to the flight of stairs we had to climb. It really looked like a cosy place! The stairs were already pretty on its own!
Kee gave us room 29 while the other two couples' rooms were a flight of stairs higher than ours haha. Put our things down and headed straight back down for our course dinner at 6.30pm.

The salad bar was self-service and yay we had lingonberry here too! The sweet potato cake was very good and the chicken breast meat was not bad because not dry. The tiramisu was a bit sweet for me.

Made our way back at 7.45pm and decided on an impromptu "fashion shoot" along the stairs with Diana and Isaiah too haha~ Whoa sey my Potato can leh! I can’t keep a straight face without looking weird though.
Back in the room, PotaTOHs lazed until very shiok haha. The view outside in winter is so pretty~

Decided to try our luck for Aurora that night out on the top of the resort with Kee and some other tour members. They had very thick snow but it was still a nice walk in the cold night with 30sLGEgang.

Sidney “died” because there was no Aulola due to thick clouds lol! This girl just went around lying in snow haha. Dancing aurora would have been the cherry on top, but to me, the snow views were impressive enough already.

Love how secluded the cabin is because we were facing the woods.
