Backdate: Norway, Sweden, Finland Nov - Dec 2025 Day 6

2/12/25 Tues: Woke up at 6.45am and had breakfast at 7.15am at Thon Hotel Svolvaer. There were much more choices here than at the previous two stays. The mushrooms were good and the fishcake was not bad too.
Left at 8am and reached
Henningsvær Football Stadium 45 minutes later. The tourist attraction was covered in snow in winter, and the sun looked just about to rise at 8.45am. The break of dawn was really beautiful.

We were there for about 15 minutes. The wind was blowing hard and it was very cold. PotaTOHs, Sidney and WS ran around in the cold while Anthony and Gracie enjoyed their quiet dating time by themselves haha. Six of us gathered together and the five big kids took a random "dap" photo lol...
Had a toilet break between 9.30 to 9.45am... and what a sight it was! Their houses were really cute and pretty!

After that, we began our drive passing the Lofoten Islands towards Reine… it was like a movie! 一路真的得不可思议。美得窒息却心甘情愿~ For a few moments, it'd made me want to live there for a month or so, just to experience the wintry days haha.
Could see some ice beginning to form on the water surface as well. At 11.30am, we took a toilet break again at cubicles by the seaside... oooh the salty smell haha.

Interesting design for men/women toilet. But kns, the handle was loose, and I panicked for a bit because I was stuck inside this huge cubicle with really sturdy-looking metal door after usage! A few of my group mates tried to help from the outside and man I really cannot recall how we managed to open it in the end. *Made Potato a little worried too~ meow sorry~* Lina and YH, who were behind me in the queue, decided not to lock that cubicle's door afterwards.

The bus stopped near the bridge at Moskenesøya, an island at the Southern end of the Lofoten Archipelago. The wind was relentless, and with ongoing traffic, we snapped photos hastily at the打卡点.

Stopped in front of their iconic yellow house and took photos. As a "big kid", I decided to take their swing but knew only later that it's only for kids lol.

At 12.45pm, we parked at the town of Reine. It was too beautiful... just like a postcard. Kee walked us to the bridge and took awesome photos... thanks to Anthony too!

With the friends made on our trip... three married couples all in our 30s haha and we nicknamed ourselves "30sLGEgang" lol.

Don't think there were that many choices for lunch there, and eventually we settled for Tapperiet Bistro at 1.30pm. I think the whole tour group was there for that one-hour lunch basically lol, and so their kitchen was overwhelmed for a bit.

I ordered Bacalao, which was the most expensive item on the menu but I didn’t know lol. It was spicy and sweet soup with fish and potatoes and it was not bad. Potato had the creamy fish soup, which was only okay. Bill came up to 548 nok (S$70.25).

Kee was hurrying all of us because the bus had to leave by 2.45pm, pass the underwater tunnel on our way back to the hotel. Long drive and we only got back at 5.30pm.

Six of us wanted to eat our cup noodles at the lobby together, but the receptionist would not allow, so we ended up eating in Sidney and WS's room at 8.30pm. PotaTOHs tried the local cup noodles sold at $1.30 each, and I thought my spicy chicken-flavoured one was not bad.

Just as we were seated on the floor, watching the tv and having chips, all of a sudden when I lifted my head up and back, I felt a bout of giddiness came on. I sat straight but my heart began racing. I took deep breaths and the racing stopped within a minute, but the rest said my lips went pale. So, I got up and went back to our room to rest with Potato at 9.30pm.
I felt really uneasy, even though I was alright that night, so I asked chatGPT, and it explained I could have experienced a brief vasovagal/autonomic dip episode (when the nervous system suddenly dips the heart rate or blood pressure because of stress or fatigue) and a mild panic surge when the body overcompensated with an adrenaline spike, which is not uncommon with fatigue, jet lag and dehydration. And I think this was the start of Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD) in the next three months for me...
