10/11/25 Mon: Boxing cardio with Gerald this morning was alright. The workouts were paced nicely and there were adequate weights used too.

Cooked meatless酸辣汤for dinner! It was not as thick as I wanted it to be. *reminder to myself cannot just throw starch in to thicken soup lol~* Potato helped to add more vinegar and sugar to the soup in the end, which made the taste even better.

11/11/25 Tues: I really enjoy Elsie's class, so it's no wonder it's always full. We worked on the spine corrector and the reformer this morning, and I tried "snake" pose on the reformer for the first time. It was a bit awkward, and I felt a lot on the arm in front, but it was an interesting one. She explains very well as to which body parts we should engage, and would correct me or push me if she sees that I can do more, for example she saw my flexibility, so she wanted me to arch more in tree pose.

Potato treated us to dinner at Ron Sheng Fish Soup because he wanted to use his LifeSG credits~ it was good as usual! We shopped around Tengah for a bit... walked a new stretch this evening and saw some new shops.

12/11/25 Weds: HL said my shoulders were very tight during my TCM massage session in the morning. When I told her about how achy my right forearm was the past few days, she massaged my right palm and wrist and I could feel the pain while my left was okay. She said I probably injured it a bit while twising a cap or doing some exercise moves with palms on the floor. *I did simple stretching for the extensor muscles at night and the pain went away!*

Potato cooked butter miso ramen with chicken, crabsticks, mushrooms, enoki shrooms and bok choy for dinner~ so happy to be enjoying homecooked dinner because work today was a bit overwhelming.

13/11/25 Thurs: Went for大光明meditation this morning and it was good as usual… bar my sore calves after the sessions every time haha. Had a good dinner at my parents’ and sorted out the extra charge of Viu premium fees on my dad’s Singtel bill this month. Dad saw a doctor on Weds for his right inner thigh ache near the knee, which seems like a chronic problem nowadays. His eyes also looked somewhat puffy.

14/11/25 Fri: Met ex-STC stable staff while I was on my way to Batok Polyclinic. Uncle Ah Ker still hasn’t found a job apparently but I hope he finds one soon! The Malay lady who took my blood was very skilled I didn’t feel anything when she poke the needle in and out. She tried to find the vein on my left arm first but said it’s very near the bones, hence many previous nurse avoided that arm when taking blood.

The fried fish tom yam soup with noodles cost $7.3 at Batok West Hawker but that’s my last chance for that stall. Adding $1 for thick bee hoon was too expensive, the fried fish were soggy and the tom yam soup was somewhat bland. I probably would have cooked better lol.

Potato tried a “seasonal recipe” he saw on Tiktok and made enoki shrooms, prawns, minced mushrooms, celery and garlic with kimchi and butter in sake, mirin and light soy sauce to go with the rice. It has an interesting sweet taste (probably from the kinchi) and also a strong smell of sake~ quite nice.

15/11/25 Sat: PotaTOHs went to honsieponsie at Queensway Shopping Centre to look for winter clothes for our Europe trip. There were many customers but there were so many clothes and not exactly labelled properly, so it's quite a headache to look for just winter layers. We found a few, and it's obvious they are pre-loved ones, but some were had stains or were not in clean condition. Didn't get any in the end and we went to Promenade MRT to meet Potato's parents for MIL's birthday dinner at Elemens at Millenia Walk.

The restaurant was full in the evening, so good thing we made a reservation. We had the five-course sets ($132+). I tried the new "fish maw" soup and whatever that crunchy stuff was in the peppery soup, it tasted great.
The truffle mushroom pizza we shared was good too, but my black truffle dumpling ramen was meh. The dumplings were too thick and bland, and the soup was a bit too rich for me. Passed them the cherry juice from Eden Orchards too.

16/11/25 Sun: Busy day at work for me but Potato promised he’d put more effort into making an anniversary dinner for us tonight and he did it nicely! First, he put the cod fish marinated with miso paste and sake into the fridge for two days before taking it out to bake in the oven for 20 minutes in 180 degrees Celcius. The sake was overpowering and bitter for me but the flaky meat was still tender!

The Swiss brown shrooms were yummy as usual, and the seared scallop was firm and delicious, albeit just a bit salty for me on one side. We both liked the rosti which was crusty on the outside but soft on the inside! I appreciate it a lot thanks dear! <3 *Happy 7th wedding anniversary and 10th dating anniversary to us!*

Finished watching《回魂计》on Netflix.

17/11/25 Mon: Nishy replaced PL for deep stretch class this morning. There were some stretches but not as intense as those in PL's classes, which I enjoy more haha.

Potato had two ideas for meatless dinner tonight after he shopped for our fleece jackets (two for $60) at Decathlon~ I picked “B” this time round and it was tom yam maggie with bok choy, enoki shrooms, black fungus, mushroom, egg and seaweed flakes! The yummy soup was on the saltier side, so the sweeter kimchi went well with it.

18/11/25 Tues: Did voluntary delivering of meals to the elderlys this morning. There are always some who'd talk nicely to me, albeit mostly not home. But it happened this morning one lady sort of "snapped" or sounded irritated because I called out to her a second time to remind her meal's there. That's because the first time, she made a sound that I thought heard like she was in pain. But the second time? Definitely telling me to shun lol.

Tried a new dish: spring onion ginger garlic soya chicken tonight. Used 14 mid-joint wings since Potato likes them haha~ luckily it turned out not bad! I used quite a bit of oil in this dish too. Also stir-fried celery and Swiss brown mushrooms.

19/11/25 Weds: Took Grab ($16.3) over to Tan Tock Seng Hospital Renal Clinic and I arrived at about 8.05am in just half an hour... fast. Was there for 3.5 hours to participate in a study, so I fasted the night before and just drank lots of water in the morning because I'm worried the blood flow from my vein would stop half way lol. Headed to the toilet the first thing to take my urine and saliva samples for the nurse.

After that, it was the start of a series of test, and I cannot remember how many times she took my blood pressure just this morning alone lol. I took 10 tubes of blood about 50ml in total (she said my vein is thin, hence flow was intermittent in between), did ECG test, eye capillaries' check, ultrasound scans in my neck, rib and pelvic area, and checks on the arteries in the neck and arms. Also went up two floors to do InBody body composition scan, then take blood pressure, after that came down and did a six-minute walk, and take blood pressure again. Also had 200+ pages of questionnaire to fill in.

The last lie-down blood pressure monitoring system had my left and right arm, left and right index fingers, right thigh and left and right big toes' pressure taken too~ how cool was that! Oh in one of the tests during the last 10 minutes, the blood pressure wrap squeezed my left arm so tight for a whopping five minutes and my fingers slowly become numb and then it came to my whole left arm, but the needling sensation gave me a peek into how I'd feel if blood supply was cut off omg. Really felt like my left hand and fingers were gone~ When she finally released the wrap, that gush of blood was a mix of mint-cooling sensation and needling down my left forearm and I slowly regained the sensation in my fingers and palm again... mixed feelings lol.

I was given a token of appreciation, and some of the blood test results were available on HealthHub app, but what I was more curious about were my body fat composition taken on InBody 770. The physical fitness score was "good", and I think markers looked okay overall, but damn my body fat percentage is slightly higher than normal omg~ Good thing visceral fat percentage looks okay. Anyway, the takeaway of my results from this machine was that I should, ideally, increase my weight to 57.5kg, but reduce my fat by 2.8kg and gain another 4.4kg of muscle to make my body balanced lol! Well, I haven't been exercising vigorously the past one week, but I do intend to increase Pilates class to two times a week after my holidays because I enjoy them and tower classes sound fun!

Was given a stool kit and told that I'd have to go back after a year to go through the same procedures for the study. The famished me had a meh teriyaki chiken bento ($9.5) at Umi Sushi outlet on the third floor at 11.30am and hurried home to work in the afternoon.

Had my "blood replenished" with Potato's hot soba with prawns, cabbage and carrots for dinner~ yummy!

Finished watching "Physical: Asia" on Netflix.

Eight teams from different countries in this intense reality show. Team Turkey and Australia seemed the stronger ones from the start, and South Korea was not bad either in terms of strength. But Mongolia was definitely the underdog... who knew they'd go all the way to be in the Top 2! It's a pity they lost to South Korea even though I was rooting for a Mongolia upset lol. It'd be exciting if it was Australia though because strength-wise, I think they'd really give Team South Korea a run for their money.

Quite impressed by the set-ups and the different games too. They all looked like both huge physical and mental challenges for the participants, but I enjoyed some of their wits too, like how the Mongolian wrestler suggested using the log and their body weights to help close the heavy castle door.

A worldwide version next please!

21/11/25 Fri: Maybe because it's the second day of my period, hence I felt more easily tired during car-streng-dio class this morning, even nearing the point of how I feel if I were to experience a "whiteout", so I stopped for a while in the midst of the class for recovery. Received a call from the Polyclinic regarding my lipid and iron results. The current statin dosage seems to work for me, but doctor said my iron levels have been low since a year ago when I stopped iron supplement. He mentioned to have enough iron from food alone, then two meals a day should have a portion of green leafy vegetables each, and a meal a day should contain red meat like pork, beef or mutton! Seafood doesn't give iron. I eat only chicken and fish meat most of the time. Yet also because women lose blood through menses monthly, hence we have even lower iron level usually. Guess I'm starting on the iron supplements again~

Met WT, SS and Mich at SBCD Korean Tofu House at Tanjong Pagar for dinner. I had the assorted seafood set ($23.90+) that came with crab even, but it was too soft by the time I ate that. The soup was also quite salty for me because I find myself drinking quite a bit of water after that. The sotong also not “q”.
But we had a fun time listening to Mich sharing on her ex-Korean bf and the second Korean guy she knew from a language app… hilarious “k-drama” really exist in real life, albeit Mich the “female lead” is too practical haha! We then continued to chat at a cafe nearby as we had the matcha cake and chrysanthemum ice-cream, which were not bad. SS also shared about her health check recently. Guess it’s stressful being a subject head with so many things to manage. Perhaps we could go out for some outdoor activities together next time!
22/11/25 Sat: I really love the seaweed rice idea Potato did for dinner tonight! There's also a lot of nutritious ingredients like salmon, celery, Japanese cucumber, Swiss Brown shrooms, cabbage and clams in miso soup! <3
23/11/25 Sun: Packed the majority of my luggage this afternoon. Met the farmily for Fran, Linh and my belated bday dinner at KEK Seafood at Bukit Merah. The coffee rib, trio egg with spinach and moonlight hor fun were quite good. I found the chilli crab sauce a bit too sweet for me though. The white pepper crab and cereal prawn was so-so. Not a fan of yam ring, so didn’t touch it. Other fried stuff on the platter didn’t leave any impression either.

24/11/25 Mon: Cancelled my lunch plans with Mike and LL to bring dad to Jurong Polyclinic because mum said his right leg pain was so bad yesterday he couldn’t walk and had to have mum and third uncle help him home from the market. He has seen the doctors three times in like a month or so for the ache too. Knowing my dad, he doesn’t communicate well so I decided to rush over to Jurong Polyclinic and missed collecting my own medicine from Batok Polyclinic this morning. He was slightly late and I had to hold him most of the time today.
Doc did some checks and referred him to do x-ray on the lower spine, knees and hips. I helped him with the changing. After that I rushed back to Batok Polyclinic to collect my medicine and came back to Jurong East again to have lunch with him at the coffee shop behind the Polyclinic… his halal seafood hor fun ($5.5) and my mee soto ($4.5) were very salty omg.
Doctor said he has bad scoliosis, slight arthritis on the right knee. His hip is straight, but there are some bone spurs (related to old age) but he is not sure if he has a compromised nerve that is causing the pain on dad’s right leg, so he referred him to bone specialist at NTFGH. With regards to his poor memory and excessive sleep issue, he ordered for my dad to do a blood test at 2pm and to follow up with consultation on Dec 19, the same day he is having his memory care clinic appointment. Made sure he got up the bus at 2+pm and I only got home late at 3pm for work. *As a daughter, I do my best, but he also has to take responsibility and eat medicine as instructed. More importantly, he needs to find a hobby for himself to pass time instead of sleeping whenever he’s not working.*

25/11/25 Tues: Thankful to Potato who helped me deliver the 11 meals to the elderlies nearby when it was raining this morning~
Mum told me dad got a call from Jurong Polyclinic yesterday evening to go back this morning for doctor's consultation and he got referred to NTFGH from there. Apparently, his stools are black, haemoglobin level is low, so they suspect he has internal bleeding somewhere, so he was referred for endoscopy and did blood transfusion while waiting for a bed for him to stay over for observation. Mum said he'd experience stomachache since two weeks ago, and vomited too, but medicine from the private doctors relieved his symptoms. It was probably until Monday when he went to do the blood test that they found something amiss. *I do think that has got to do with his excessive sleepiness recently.* I remember the doctors at Polyclinic said before he is suspected to have Thalassemia minor, which probably made it worse when it comes to internal bleeding.
Potato whipped up tomato pasta with minced pork collar with green capsicums and mushrooms for dinner!
26/11/25 Weds: PotaTOHs had meatless omakase lunch ($235) at Ki Su Shoujin Omakase for our 7th wedding anniversary and 10th pa-tor anniversary! <3 The lunch set consisted of Amuse-Bouche Platter, three types of Nigiri sushi, Truffle Pate, Yakimono, golden Temaki, main, soup and dessert. Nice of them to get us a small cheesecake for our anniversary~ albeit I don't really like cheese haha.
For the chef's appetiser, we enjoyed the shroom with truffle rice cracker~ and that burst of avocado with cherry there. For the "nigiri", the shrooms with yuzu, red capsicum and Japanese eggplant were  rather nice imitations... tasted somewhat like "meat" haha.
Not much "feel" for the truffle pate nor the yakimonos that had Tofu, sweet potato with sugarcane and miso zucchini. Then, they let us try “oyster leaf” (had the taste really~) and served the fancy temaki with of fried maiitake with spicy mayonnaise and "gold flakes"... gave us extra somemore haha.
Love the main dish which had lion mane shrooms with cereals and black pepper sauce and mashed potato. The sweet corn shoot is a bit sweet too. *I joked with the waiter like "can we have more?" He was like "yeah~" and that's when my Potato's eyes "grew bigger" for a bit because he really wanted more of it haha!*
For the second last dish, we had tofu cut like chrysanthemum served in mushroom soup... it was very tasty. I liked their matcha ice-cream with fruits and Japanese black bean dessert too. Interesting plant-based omakase experience and we appreciated it.

After dinner at my mum's where we had fish head curry and very sweet and nice black chicken soup, PotaTOHs went down to NTFGH Tower B to visit my dad, who did his endoscope this afternoon. We were there at 6.45pm or so and dad said he just got back to the ward not too long ago. The nurse said it lasted for about three hours. Dad said he had two painful injection on his right thigh near the butt and I think he probably teared there. Nurse has got the report but she said doctor would call mum to explain tomorrow about how his scope went. I'm just hoping they found the source to his internal bleeding and everything's good from here, and that he can be discharged soon.
