Hougang Otah interview + Potato down with Influenza A + 易家扬歌词讲座 + My belated bday dinner @ Seoul Noodle Soup w Pat & WZ + last lesson of进阶作词班 & PotaTOHs' belated bday dinner @ Fishmart Sakuraya w Ian

27/10/25 Mon: Good Barreless-Barre workout with Ice this morning. Then, I enjoyed a delicious meatless cold somen with Swiss Brown shrooms, shimeiji shrooms, Japanese cucumber and cherry tomatoes that Potato made with Masa's recipe.

28/10/25 Tues: Cabbed to Bedok for my interview with Georgina, the managing director and Mdm Ng, the founder of Hougang Otah this morning. They greeted me warmly and we sat down for an hour of talk in Mdm Ng's office, before Georgina brought me to the factory to look at the production process. *Gosh the storage freezer was cold at -18 degrees Celcius!* They have very old workers in their 70s and 80s and still working in the production line together wow.

Came back to the office for tasting session and the otah youtiao was a pleasant surprise because it was crunchy on the outside. Ended up with two bags full of otah products due to their warm hospitality, so I decided I was better off cabbing home haha. *Gave away some of the otahs to the Gojek uncle, WL and Salikin haha~*

Potato cooked simple cold soba with prawn gyoza for dinner tonight. The prawn gyoza contained prawn paste and not individual prawns, but they were still quite nice, although Potato thought he could have pan-fried it further till the bottom skins are dry.

29/10/25 Weds: Tried Pilates immediate class with Ruth this morning and she used the magic ring throughout, be it for mat or reformer bed. For some of the moves, the ring made them easier but for others, it made them tougher haha. Ruth was also clear in her instructions, so the class was quite nice too. Linh and I then had lunch at Greendot.
Potato came home with a fever. He felt it halfway through work, so boiled his usual liang teh to drink. He took a nap, but the fever did not go away, and he also felt a bit of joint pain. Saw a doctor at night and he came home with quite a bit of medicine.

30/10/25 Thurs: Went to Bodhi Meditation Centre to attend the Great Illumination practice after so long. They moved to the 4th floor now. The whole session still took close to 2.5 hours, similar to when I learned it during the 7-day stress relief class. It was nice, but I clearly forgot some of the moves, so I had to open my eyes to observe at times.
After tuition, went over to my parents to take away dinner since Potato's sick. We had fish, spinach with mushrooms and a Chinese soup. Potato's fever was gone today and he enjoyed the dinner.

31/10/25 Fri: Potato said his fever came back in the middle of the night... spiked to 39.1 degrees Celcius at one point, so he saw the doctor again. He did the swab test for Influenza and COVID-19 again and tested positive for Influenza A, which he said is highly contagious. Doctor prescribed Tamiflu tablets for him, but I chose not to take it as preventive option. *Keeping my fingers crossed he recovers soon but my immunity can keep it away from me haha.*
Cooked Masa’s wafu pasta but I used Penne this time… could have been a bit softer but still not bad. Cherry tomatoes gave the sauce another umami taste, but I added a lot because I want Potato to have more Vitamin C!

1/11/25 Sat: XH invited famous lyricist易家扬for our 1.5h talk this afternoon and it was nice to hear from him on how new lyricists should do to catch the attention in the market nowadays. He had some nice lyrics in“明日坐标”too, and explained the idea behind that composition. He seems a nice guy and well who knows? Maybe to writing one for him and his team one day haha!

Cooked pork dumplings with cherry tomatoes, carrots and onion soup. Used up the iceberg lettuce, Japanese cucumber, one potato and the remaining pork belly slices. Aish some of my potato slices were burnt again tsk.

2/11/25 Sun: Start of my busy five-day work week for the next three weeks or so till before PotaTOH's Europe trip! Potato still not fully recovered, but he still made the effort to cook tomato penne with minced pork meat, celery, mushrooms and onions for us for dinner.

3/11/25 Mon: Boxing cardio with coach Gerald this morning was alright... usual sweat but not so tiring.

Cooked meatless Taiwanese ramen in chicken stock with celery, carrots, egg, dumplings, mushrooms and onions. Potato couldn't finish his dinner, which was rare, but given how he's still recovering from Influenza A, I told him to monitor his appetite.

4/11/25 Tues: Met Linh to deliver meals to the elderlys in my estate before we had lunch at Batok West Hawker centre. Glad she enjoyed her voluntary work with me and we had a nice chatting at the sky garden at Harmony Village too!

5/11/25 Weds: Ruth used the spine corrector for our Pilates mat and reformer class this morning. Some moves were challenging, especially the balance on the corrector, but it was a nice class.

6/11/25 Thurs: Potato looked like he has fully recovered since this morning~ He whipped up yummy teriyaki salmon with mushrooms and brocolli and miso soup with tofu for dinner!

7/11/25 Fri: Aerial yoga with Daryl this morning was nice... did a soft flow but somehow the twisting and turning of the body and legs were a bit confusing for everybody it seemed lol.

Pat and WZ treated me to a belated bday dinner at Seoul Noodle Soup at Tanjong Pagar.  The spicy pork rib noodles were better than the chicken one for me. Their seafood pancake tasted more like egg pancake though. Pat insisted we must eat cakes on birthdays haha, so they bought me peach tart and mint chocolate cake at Han's too. Thanks ladies~

8/11/25 Sat: Went for the last lesson of xiaohan's advanced lyrics class. Finally! It's been 11 months since I started the course in January~ received our certificates and took photos with小寒, but I guess the road ahead is still long and filled with possibilities!

Also did our "last assignment" on my new IG account s.zee_lyrics for the class since XH requested. I wrote a short lyrics for "Beautiful" by Crush.
Ian treated PotaTOHs to our belated birthday dinner at Fishmart Sakuraya, our usual haunt! The sashimi were good as usual omg~ though the seasonal flounder with soy sauce just reminded us of chee cheong fun which was a bit weird lol. Had Koi bubble tea before HTHT at ours too.

9/11/25 Sun: Potato cooked jajjangmyeon for dinner! He added minced mushrooms along with pork meat and onions this time~
