28/9/25 Sun: Joined HPB's yin yoga class at noon and I enjoyed it. Patricia was clear with her instructions and kept reminding us to pay attention to the moment. *Weird how I felt quite breathless when I leaned my neck towards the left and tilted my head upwards to an angle and kept it there, so I changed position soon. No such issue with the opposite side though.* Also the dragon baby pose and supine twist poses earlier in the morning also helped with my left hip, which felt achy this whole week.
PY, Ian and Linh came in the late afternoon and we decided on pizza for dinner. Ordered the tom yam seafood pizza and Hawaiian supreme ($36) from Rite pizza while Potato bought BBQ chicken pizza and chicken mushroom and ham pizza from Pizza Hut ($25)~ not bad but the tom yam seafood one was hot as usual! PY also brought over some snow skin mooncakes and teochew mooncakes for us to share. The raspberry-flavoured one with alcohol was not bad imo.
Played with sparklers and lantern with Ava and John at the playground. Also invited WL, WS and their son YR to play with the kids. Tried to draw some "patterns" with the sparklers behind Linh while Fran captures them using her phone but the "heart shape" just looked more like "apple shape" to me haha! James' "angel wings" were creative though!
Came home to eat the strawberry chocolate cake Linh baked for seven hours omg~ it was on the sweeter side, but we appreciate Ian and her efforts for James and Stephen's birthday celebration! Ning and Wandi bought Koi bubble tea and macarons too.

29/9/25 Mon: Tried a few different moves in Margareth's intermediate class this morning and they were challenging.
Potato seared salmon for each of us for dinner~ so shiok! I love the flavourful miso soup with bok choy, tofu, enoki shrooms and radish too! He also made the "bunny" with the cherry tomatoes haha~ we just celebrated Mid-Autumn yesterday haha~ is it I'm the嫦娥? keke~
30/9/25 Tues: Potato seared chicken with spinach, mushrooms, enoki shrooms and onions with spaghetti in cream sauce. I like the overall taste, especially the sear was quite good.
1/10/25 Weds: Claimed my free birthday drink at Mr Coconut but the strawberry uji matcha latte coconut drink was not to my liking.
Decided to cook a stew I saw on IG for dinner on Potato’s birthdsy hehe~ the soup turned out more bland, but Potato’s still appreciative and we finished almost the whole pot of pork belly, cabbage, mushrooms, enoki shrooms, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, eggs and beancurd skin! On hindsight, I could have cook the cabbage for longer and added soba sauce into the soup to make it more savoury.
2/10/25 Thurs: Had dinner at my parents' before PotaTOHs went to Lakeside and Chinese Garden for Lights by the Lake Mid-Autumn Festival displays. There was a huge pasar malam and Potato bought muah chee ($3) because he craved for it haha.
Saw light displays on the main characters in "Journey to the West", as well as some famous chapters from the novel. Some of the displays could "move" and there was even "smoke" coming out from king demon bull's nostrils!
Saw a small group of audience at the Wave Plaza guessing灯谜! It was so cool but the difficulty level nowadays has definitely gone up because one don't just guess one word but it can be an idiom, a saying or a line from a poem etc. Nice to see a handful of them still challenging themselves. 猜灯谜used to be one of my favourite activity during Mid-Autumn festival other than playing with lanterns.

Walked over to Chinese Garden and saw the huge lotus pond before we went home. There were quite a number of people in the park on a Thursday night though.
3/10/25 Fri: Brought Potato to Fish and Bones for lunch for our 37th birthday! The Korean restaurant has live seafood~
We enjoyed their banchans... especially their kimchi, which was not too spicy nor sour. The beansprouts were nice too and Potato liked the spicier cucumbers too. Tried their salmon, halibut and hamachi sashimi platter and the marinated soy-sauced crab first. The waitress advised us to add a bowl of white rice because the crab's on the saltier side.
He served the crab meats for us and to both our surprise, our second experience with marinated soy-sauce crab was better here than when we first had it in Seoul. It's definitely on the savoury side though.
I liked the chewy halibut and the hamachi, as well as their salmon sashimi haha, but Potato prefers the hamachi here as he doesn't like his sashimi to be that chewy. They forgot about our minari pancake order at first, but we still got it in the end. It's one with Korean watercress (taste reminds me a bit of spring onion somewhat) and shrimps in it. It was very crispy when it first came but the portion was so big we think it would be good for four pax. The middle portion of the pancake was quite bland imo though, so it definitely has to go with the saltier dipping sauce. We took home the remaining slices of pancakes and the lunch costed us $176.24 overall... on the steep side but it was worth trying.
5/10/25 Sun: Potato cooked Taiwanese ramen in miso stock with the ingredients above… but I forgot to take a photo of the soup after I poured it in lol. Comfy homecooked dinner!
6/10/25 Mon: Barre-less Barre with Ice this morning was not as intense as Agnes’ classes, but still a good sweat out.
7/10/25 Tues: Signed up for the "Meals-On-Wheels" volunteer work with TOUCH Community Services a few weeks ago, and I hope I can make it a weekly voluntary work moving forth! First time this morning and I selected 18 meals to deliver (was wondering if it could be an "overkill"~), so I bought my own duffel bag just in case. Reached Hong Kah North CC at 9am or so, and I saw the volunteers already took out the meals I have to deliver. The "normal" ones were in red bag, while the white ones were those with special requirements. I also had 17 apples and one apple juice to give out. Was a good thing I bought my duffel bag which could slot 11 of it, and they also had the big red thermal bag for me to put the other seven meals and apples.
Felt lighter to carry the bags on both shoulders while walking home. Took me a while to sort them out and to deliver in two batches according to the blocks. First four blocks and nine units took me 45 minutes or so, while the last nine at the Harmony Village took me about 20 minutes.
Most of the elderlies were not at home, so I hung the food and left, while some units TOUCH requested volunteers to take photo as proof of delivery... not sure why. There was one who needed to take his medicine after food, so I had to change my route slightly so as to expedite delivery to him. *Tried two ways to bring my meals but I think carrying them in the bag was better.*
The view at Harmony Village was nice and the breezy was shiok. One auntie even offered me a drink~ so nice of her!
I'm quite intrigued because they have many amenities like karaoke room, reading room, movie room etc located in the block itself. I guess they encourage interactions, and they have weekly activities like painting and Taiji too. The outdoor garden on the third floor was nice~ sat on the swing chair outside for a while too.
I just steamed pork belly slices, cabbage, enoki shrooms and black fungus with wine, black pepper and salt for 10minutes, before adding the marinate in and it tasted quite good! Potato would like it a bit more saltier though. The miso soup had leftover bok choy and radish, which I should have cut deeper till it reveals the “veins” before cooking, otherwise it would taste a bit bitter like tonight’s.
8/10/25 Weds: Went to Kwan Im Thong, then had lunch and bought some Lingzhi and cordycep capsules at Eu Yan Sang.
Potato hand-rolled meatballs using minced pork collar, onions, mushrooms, eggs, spring onions, black and white pepper and salt, to go with our tomato spaghetti tonight! We both thought the meatballs tasted so good!
Tried chair intermediate class with Margareth tonight and my thighs couldn’t take it haha! The elephant, washer woman etc were not easy. Then there’s also the side flexion and I realised I was very unstable when I laid down on my left side, but it was easy for me on the right. I feel many poses on the wunda chair is more difficult than when done on the reformer bed.
9/10/25 Thurs: Had dinner at my parents’ after tuition~ and the粉葛汤was sweet! Black pepper chicken was not bad too.
10/10/25 Fri: Used dumb bells I bought recently for car-streng-dio class this morning. The weights definitely made the difference for some of the moves because they felt much harder haha. Then, I cooked a simple hot soba with pork dumplings, mushrooms, cabbage, onions, shrimps, scallops and spring onions for lunch.
*need to get rid of the annoying seafood smell next time before cooking hmm~*11/10/25 Sat: PotaTOHs went to elemens at Millenia Walk for lunch because Potato has a free bday five-course meal to claim. I also ordered a five-course meal ($35).
For the starters, we had the cherry tomato in sour plum sauce on the right, which Potato enjoyed best among the trio, but I liked the charcoal tofu with the green sauce the best. The yuzu jelly with peanut sauce was nice too.
For the salad, I tried the charcoal churros with fruits rojak and the rojak sauce was legit haha. We quite liked it too. Potato had the double-boiled cordycep broth, which was nice as usual.
His main was the truffle portobello pasta and it was very tasty. His yuzu mint green tea had too much of the minty flavour though. I ate the five grain rice rolls with chuka wakame and crispy fried shrooms that went well with the mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce. Their fried seaweed tofu was not bad too.
Desserts wise, I ate tiramisu and he had some chocolate dessert… mine nicer keke. We walked in Meidi-ya for a bit before going home.
Jess and I went for our introductory two-hour pickle ball session ($39 each) at Straits Pickle Club this afternoon at 4pm. There were 17 of us and two coaches. We took turns to do the “drops in the kitchen”, then learned how to serve. Both of us underestimated how much strength we have to use for pickle ball lol. Though the court is not as big as a tennis court, nor is it as heavy, but you still need to angle properly and use some strength to get the ball over the court! *Coach said I very gan jeong lol~*
After some more drills, we were split into teams to play the game as we learn the scoring system. The only thing I remember now is “cross court serve” and “double volley” is a must! I tried my best but sometimes cannot “aim” or just cannot catch the ball lol. Still need practice to judge my distance and strength properly haha. But it was a fun session!
Had dinner at JEM’s foodcourt and the mhk ($5.5) was meh. After that, continued to chat with Jess at Kiseki cafe, where my lemon earl grey tea ($7) was better than her rose lychee’s lol.
