Moving Coco + Parents’ Day treats

20/4/24 Sat: Still quite tired this morning since we slept at 1+am yesterday. Done with unpacking my luggage and we drove to Ian’s to pick him up for lunch at Lao San Kway Chap at Ang Mo Kio. It was pretty good!

Coco very “sticky” after I come back from China uh haha!
Potato cooked tom yam chicken with enoki mushrooms, stir-fried spinach and miso soup for dinner~ so delicious and I’d missed home-cooked meals for close to two weeks now! It also took him time and effort to season the beansprouts a day earlier but it turned out very nice. The rice was also cooked using Kyushu soy sauce, sake and chicken stock… fragrant! *Two of us also drank青梅普洱酒I bought from丽江and we both enjoyed it a lot hehe.*

21/4/24 Sun: Potato cooked fried rice for us for dinner~ yums!

Could not log in to post articles after dinner so I approached Philip for help and because no one from the IT team was on duty on a race day, he could only help me re-whitelist my IP the next day. *Please don’t happen again… until I leave STC okay? Lol.*

22/4/24 Mon: Good Pilates Reformer workout this morning with Chisa but it was so tiring for me after missing two or three weeks of lesson. *My left side feels weaker but I wonder if that has got to do with my seemingly uneven hip muscles…*

Cooked the usual meatless dishes for dinner. Potato’s marinated beansprouts went very well with rice!

23/4/24 Tues: Did standing back flip for the first time in Yip’s Aerial Yoga class tonight. It looked a bit intimidating but I managed to flip through… albeit a bit too fast so I got slightly giddy haha. My right foot got a bit cramped while doing the final pose tonight hence it was slightly awkward, but still not bad imo!

24/4/24 Weds: Potato cooked his own style of miso gochujang ramen with fish slices we had~ so yummy! He peeled up the sausage and used it as minced meat toppings too.

Enjoyed Yin Yoga and Sound Bath and Wheel Yoga tonight. Due to time constraint, I’ll take a break from these lessons at Evolution Fitness and hopefully re-joined again after I leave STC.

26/4/24 Fri: Potato cooked seafood penne in tomato-based sauce for dinner! There were shrimps, sotong, Japanese cucumbers (because I brought wrongly… supposed to be zucchini haha), green capsicums and oyster mushrooms.

27/4/24 Sat: Tried Potato’s chicken meat in sesame sauce for dinner~ quite nice.

28/4/24 Sun: Had two-pax steamboat at home with Potato~ shiok!

Attended Aerial Yoga and the pose attempted required strong flexibility of the shoulders and arms as well as the lower back, which were my weaker areas… but I tried!

Also rotated both arms in Restorative Yoga class and I kept hearing the crack on both side of my arms… a bit embarrassing haha. *Really liked how I looked in the mirror during some poses… I will miss some of the classes for sure!*

29/4/24 Mon: Chisa’s class had been quite packed recently and it’s full with six students in Pilates Reformer this morning… nice workout.

Cooked sweet corn and wakame soup with leek and egg dumpling, scrambled egg and stir-fried winter gourd with chilli. The last dish turned out a bit bland…some of the winter gourd slices were still a bit tough and burnt too oops. *maybe stick to cooking them in soup better haha*

30/4/24 Tues: Only four students in Aerial Yoga class tonight and we did simple moves.

1/5/24 Weds: Watched a few episodes of “3 Body Problem” with Potato at home this Labour Day PH and Coco was just nua-ing away in the living room haha~

He followed Masa’s recipe using the chicken broth and cooked chicken (marinated with salt and Chinese wine) and shrimp with carrot, cabbage, shimeiji shroom and Taiwan flat noodles~ nice dinner!

2/5/24 Thurs: First time attending Jane’s mat Pilates class on Thursday nights. It’s half an hour of Tabata cardio before half an hour of mat Pilates. I think I had too much of a salmon don so I could feel the food in my stomach when I jumped during Tabata sets lol. But I thought the Pilates moves were tougher… sweated a lot in class.

3/5/24 Fri: Went for my regular TCM massage and did火罐with YY. I still liked her masseur the best out of the three and after that one hour, I felt really good both physically and mentally, albeit a certain point on my left lower back felt painful when I slept at night.

Potato made hamburg (minced pork collar, onion and panko milk) in red wine sauce together with roasted broccoli, carrot and potato by the side. It was yummy and even he enjoyed his homemade dinner a lot keke~

4/5/24 Sat: Potato cooked mille-feuille nabe with noodles for dinner~ the soup was very flavourful.

5/5/24 Sun: Joelle and Siva came over at noon to get Coco. We thought Coco could sense something was different after we moved all her things out into the living room. *Sent her away close to 1pm on Joelle’s car but we also saw the video of her hyperventilating badly in the car… aiyoh心疼a bit also.*

Time flies but Coco stayed with us for three months. She was both affectionate and noisy really. Hope she finds a good foster parent for the time being before Galvin and Joan’s back.

Bought D24 durian roll from emicakes for MIL for early Mother’s Day celebration and we managed to finish ¾ of it.

Tried my first foot bath at night at home with the foot bath massager and Yuroma relaxing bath pills that I bought. It was really shiok with my legs in the hot water for 20 minutes but I did felt a bit giddy after I got up after that. Don’t know if it was due to the foot bath but I thought I slept pretty well that night.

6/5/24 Mon: Had Pilates Reformer with Belinda at the new studio but I thought the reformers were too close to each other, so my classmate and I kept knocking onto each other when we did some of the moves. *Received the documents from Iceland Road Trip that included a huge physical map of Iceland!*

Potato bought Maitake mushroom from NTUC and cooked it with mushroom and shimeiji shroom in alio olio pasta~ turned out good albeit he thought there was a bit too much olive oil. Raw Maitake shrooms smelled a bit like it was fermented but it was delicious after it’s cooked.

7/5/24 Tues: Spoke with Darren at the barrier trials and he will make his Singapore debut on Sunday. Bought Jardin des Lumières ($72), a lychee strawberry tart and Garden of Trio ($39.60) from Le tart to try as an early Parent’s Day treat for my parents haha.

The Jardin des Lumières had strawberry mousse beneath a layer of strawberry jam and pistachio sponge, surrounded by a vanilla tart shell, topped with lychee chantilly ganache, strawberries and lychees and edible flowers… sweet but I enjoyed the layer of lychees in between. Potato, mum and I all thought it’s good to have a small slice each person, but it got too sweet and rich because we had quite a bit.

8/5/24 Weds: *Exit date confirmed. Finally.* Potato cooked chicken chop with cheese, maiitake and potato and carrot in tomato sauce for dinner~ enjoyed the potato and carrot a lot. Maiitake had quite a strong taste on its own as compared to when he cooked it in Alio Olio previously. We're fine with it though.

Tried the L’amour Fleuri, Charme En Jaune and Forêt Noire after dinner. L’amour Fleuri was mixed berries infused with TWG sweet French tea. They combined lady finger sponge soaked in sweet French tea with mascarpone cream and mixed berries jam. Charme En Jaune was pricot and pineapple tiramisu infused with TWG geisha blossom tea by combining lady finger sponge soaked in geisha blossom tea with mascarpone cream and pineapple compote. Forêt Noire was black forest tiramisu infused with TWG black tea. Besides lady finger sponge soaked in black tea with mascarpone cream, there was also the addition of chocolate and liquor cherries... which we both didn't like haha. I liked Charme En Jaune more while he enjoyed L’amour Fleuri. The edible flowers were a good addition to reduce the sweetness of the pastries. But all in all, they were only okay.

Did my second foot soak and put the herbal patches on the feet when I went to sleep. Quite a good sleep although I didn't fall asleep that easily... probably because I had a lot in mind.
