Backdate: New Zealand Queenstown + Dec 2023 Day 14

24/12/23 Sun: Ate the cup noodles we bought yesterday for breakfast. The Pho chicken was meh but Potato’s shrimp-flavoured one was not bad. *One made in Australia and one in Thailand…*

Checked out of Mackenzie Country Hotel at 9.45am and we drove to Queenstown. *petrol of 25.79 litres costed NZD 70.4* Arrived at the more secluded but cosy Airbnb (S$161.01 for two pax for a night) at 12.45pm and the host prepared Christmas snacks for us!

At 1.30pm, we had lunch at Flame Bar and Grill, which was recommended to us by LX and SS. It was quite packed but the food was really good. My 1/2 pork rib and fries (NZD 27.5) was huge! It was sweet and nice but I could not finish it by myself lol. Potato had the medium-rare rib eye (200g for NZD 42). Our mussels entree (NZD 23 for eight pieces) was yummy.

Strolled around the area while we waited for our 30-min Shotover Jet Boat Ride (NZD at 4.15pm. It was a short drive over but we had to queue and wait because the earlier slots were delayed too.

The driver’s pro! He cut so close to the branches and edges of rocks at times but it was pretty fun! The 360 turns were most shiok haha! *Potato never styles his hair but he liked the style after the jet ride LOL!*

We drove to where the Queenstown skyline was and it looked like they were expanding that area. The ride in the Gondola upwards was about three minutes I think and costed NZD 52 per person… expensive for the short round-trip ride, though the view was nice.

There was not much to do up there if you’re not taking the Luge rides. In my opinion, a place one can skip in Queenstown.

After about an hour there, we drove and walked to have dinner at Taco Medic at 6.30pm. We shared the Bushman pork and kentuckyman chicken tacos (NZD 17.9) because they had no more fish left.

Walked Queenstown’s Steamer Wharf and took some photos. Bought some lip balm and sheep oil too.

At 8pm, I decided we should eat gelato from Mrs Ferg Gelataria because I had been tempted since I saw it on our earlier days here in Queenstown. I bought the watermelon, chocolate and gooseberry and elderflower gelato (NZD 9.9) and the elderflower one was sour but nice, watermelon one was fragrant.

Also took away venison, mushroom pie (NZD 7.9) and chicken, bacon and mushroom pie (NZD 7.9) for our breakfast the next morning.

Stopped for some photos because the route back was scenic. Reached our Airbnb at 9pm and we saw rainbow!
