Backdate: New Zealand Queenstown & Wanaka Dec 2023 Day 3

13/12/23 Weds: We woke up at 9am and had the pies for breakfast. My mushroom and spinach pie was very filling. Potato’s butter chicken pie was quite salty.

Checked-out of our Airbnb and drove towards Lake Wanaka~ it was chilly along the way, but we still took a few pit-stops for some photos. Arrived at our Airbnb (S$256.32 for two pax for two nights) at 11.45am where the owner stayed upstairs.

It was then a short drive to the Red Star Burger Joint for lunch at 1pm. Had I known that my chicken breast meat burger bowl would be served “deconstructed”, I would have ordered the burger version la~ NZD 30 was not worth the meal. We crossed the road and walked into a Asian supermart where I ordered a cup of milk tea (NZD 7.9)… not cheap but tasted decent! *Refueled 22.12 litres of 91 Petrol at Caltex for NZD 63.2 in the afternoon~*

Spent a short time at the Wanaka Lavender Farm (NZD 15 per pax for entry) where we walked around the Lavender field, saw the titration vehicle used to make essential oil and lavender water, played Connect 4 (and he won haha~) and took many photos!

It was very hot in the afternoon, so we cooled ourselves with a cup of lavender with boson berry ice-cream (NZD 5.5) and it was delicious like sorbet! *I love food with boysen berry!* I also bought three lip balms, one moisturizer and two honeys for NZD 102.5.

Headed to Rippon Vineyard at 3.45pm because we had wine tasting at 4pm. We were given six wines to taste and bought two bottles of Osteiner (NZD 58) in the end. *The scenery there was awesome!*

Had our dinner at Burrito Craft, an outdoor eatery at Brownston Street. The Monkfish tacos (on the left) was delicious. We also shared the mushroom with curry one and he ate the beef one too (NZD 21).

We had some time since daylight is long in the summer in New Zealand, so we embarked on the 4.5km loop trail trek at Mount Iron, which took us about two hours from 7 to 9pm. *Yes I wore a dress to trek lol.* The uphill slopes were already quite tiring for me at first but the views up on top was great. There were also many hares around.

Well, I guess that was where our dinner went LOL! Opted to visit Lake Wanaka at 9+pm and the waters were so clear you could see fishes and ducks in there. *Bought two sandwiches and a packet of chips for NZD 16.2 and a plastic bag costed us NZD 0.35…*
