Bali trip with Farmily Day 1-3

19/12/19 Thurs: PotaTOHs flew off to Bali on JetStar 3K245 at 3.40pm. *S$422.76 for our round-trip tickets.* The flight took close to 3 hours to land in Denpasar airport, and we caught up with Ian before taking Karma Jimbaran's van to the villa!
It was 8+, 9 pm when we reached. The staff drove us a little further to where Villa No 1 was. This 2-storey 3-bedroom villa was huge! We had our own private pool~ *About S$400 per person for a 5-nights' stay.* There's the living room, dining and kitchen, as well as Ian's bedroom on the first floor.
Potato and I had the bedroom on the second floor, the one with a bathtub. *Despite being slow to come at times, the housekeeping staff did their job pretty well, just that I don't like it when they keep opening up each and every blind in the room...*

James and Gwen came in too later and the guys dipped for a bit in the pool and we all caught up over wines and beers they bought. It was Ian's 31st birthday too~ a nice and simple one with the farmily! *Blur for a bit when the frontdesk called me about arrangement for Ian's birthday cake! They mentioned about buying it the next morning, and since we were going for the breakfast at The Bay restaurant just next to our villa, I told him we'd pick it up there.*
20/12/19 Fri: Walked over to the villa's dining area (spa on second floor) which we were located right next to in the morning from breakfast. There's a longer pool there for guests who wants to do laps. We could choose one main dish and drinks from their ala carte menu. My avocado and eggs with sourdough was alright. James tried Shashuka, basically eggs in tomato sauce. *Potato made an excuse to rush to the reception to get them to deliver Ian's birthday cake straight to our villa instead as we were planning to head back after breakfast... 辛苦你了~*

The afternoon sun was very hot, completely different from Singapore experiencing monsoon at the moment. We surprised Ian a little with the cake, and chit-chat by the pool. Two bees flew by and somehow both died in the waters. Lazy afternoon. We called Grabfood and packed lunch in. The Babi Guling was not bad, so were the veggies and fried pork.
We played Yaniv after that, and they all seemed to enjoy the game too hehe. *I'm hooked onto it for a bit now? Hehe~* Also made some plans for the next few days as we came to Bali with no plans in mind but to relax together. *I'm usually not the kind to "nua" in another country, but with that hot weather, mostly beach activities around and no plans being made in advance, enjoying the stay in our villa don't seem like a bad idea either.*
Went for "Karma Live Friday seafood BBQ dinner" event at The Bay. We were surprised at first to see only one or table filled with guests, so it was as if we'd booked the whole place to ourselves lol. The guys being music lovers and knowledgeable in this area, commented on their singing and strumming now and then.
For dinner, we went with three complimentary 3-course set included for us in the villa package, while James and Ian had their seafood BBQ buffet. *It sounded like they could share their food with us when the staff made this suggestion to us over the phone earlier, but apparently, it was not allowed there tsk.* The 3-course dinner for me was just salads (oh man mixed greens literally...), seafood arrabbiata and chocolate ice-cream. I thought the seafood BBQ set tasted better though.
21/12/19 Sat: Had breakfast, James and Gwen joined us after their morning run. It was Gwen's 32nd birthday and the hotel actually bought the same cake as Ian's~ maybe they have some "collaboration" with this cake shop la...
Potato, James, Gwen and I decided to go for a dip in the pool at The Bay. They did laps but not us. 4 of us went back to our villa and continued "playing in the waters" with Ian around haha~
Took a shower and PotaTOHs walked towards Jimbaran beach to look-see, but damn it was so bloody hot we couldn't take it after 20 minutes or so, and went back to our villa.
It was pretty "scenic" inside Karma Jimbaran too!
We went for our complimentary 1-hour Sacred Balinese massage session included in the stay. It was a traditional Balinese-style warm coconut oil massage... so-so.
Had Grabfood again in the villa... whoever ordered lol. I pretty much enjoyed my lunch, especially the spicy fish maw! Ian, James and Gwen took turns to go for the massage sessions in the afternoon, while Potato and I enjoyed an episode of "Terrace House" in the living room.
We took a Grabcar out to Cuca restaurant at night for our dinner. It was recommended on TripAdvisor, and the whole place was quite pretty. There were many chefs in the kitchen from what we saw. We had champagne and mocktail (Iced Rose for me), and as the food was supposed to be shared, and each person could order three items each, we ended up sharing almost everything on their tapas menu, except for the lunch special and chef's tasting menu!
We shared 20 tapas in total! I enjoyed the smoked butterfish the most. They were sliced raw fishes in the shape of a rose dipped in beetroot yoghurt and zucchini pickles and parsley crumbs! It was a good mix of seafood, pork, beef and veggies. Other dishes were mostly yummy too, and I thought they were creative to some extent.

And yes we definitely overkilled with five more desserts on the table. I liked Bali Breakfast and Cocoa Mint over others.
Nearly S$100 per person for the dinner, expensive but it sure was filling and satisfying. Good experience and I would recommend it to friends coming to Bali in future!
