Ampang Yong Tau Foo + Kite-flying and picnic session + Cavalia!

Been procrastinating my lunch date with Mike and Jon to Ampang Yong Tau Foo. Finally had it like last thurs, and Jon and I decided to treat Mike to it instead since he's a Aug baby haha. Both of them are Hakka, and Jon told me this is like the trad Yong Tau Foo... with more fried stuff. Though I'm not a fan of ganggong, the others were still not bad, not gonna rave about this though.

Met KU at JP NTUC last sat to buy drinks and tidbits for our picnic session. Jess met us and 3 of us headed down to Marina Barrage... gosh the sun was scorching that afternoon la! And with some event gg on, the place is somewhat crowded.
Jess was trying hard to improve on her selfie skills you see... eh hem haha. LL, KW and Ahna reached later. Ahna's homemade apple salad with raisins and Jap sauce tasted yummy... 酸酸甜甜!
*Thanks for the lovely momento from UK KW!* After fulfilling our stomach, it was time for kite-flying! *Sth LL has been dying and looking forward to lol~* She brought two kites, and "sparrow" managed to fly beautifully high with KW's help... but "tragedy" striked later when one naughty Indian child played mischief by running ard with his kite, and ended up tangling like 5-6 strings together! "Sparrow"'s string snapped and even though KU and KW tried to run to the direction it flew to... it went into the waters by the time they saw it.
Ahna went back to fetch her sons before meeting us for dinner at Arirang at Liang Seah st, so the rest of us finished the leftovers and took some grp shots before leaving.
Didn't take any photo at Arirang buffet dinner but the queue was about half an hr, and Ahna's family joined us for dinner~ Food was better than average I would say but as usual... buffets are so filling!

MY, Daryl and I headed down to bayfront open field aft work on thurs evening for what we've been waiting to watch: Cavalia! Had dinner at鼎泰丰but sadly I couldn't try the chilled steamed crab dumpling cos the waiting time was a bit long. MY's hubby joined us after his dinner and four of us made our way to the 35m tall pitched tents~
Lucky we were seated at row FF... 6th row from the front. The view was awesome, yet spared from the "shower" haha. *Craig Evans and his family were there too!* Was too engrossed in the show and I didn't want to take any photos, so here's one shot courtesy of MY's FB:
So intrigued even after the 2.5hrs (with 30mins break interval)! Well, actually the stage in front doesn't have a very high barrier, so if the horses went bonkers or felt naughty and wants to jump out and charge towards the audience... sth bad can happen imo. Then again, I think the acrobats and trainers are so professional that I didn't have time to think about the worst happening at all. I love the music, the choreography and the live band~ 蛮紧凑的表演。
The stable visit afterwards was a bit disappointing though cos we cannot feed nor pat the horses. But you get to see them real up close. *Though the breeds contain no thoroughbreds... not horses that I get to see weekly haha.*
Yes man do braids and plaits, but to think some of their manes are naturally curly! Well... I learnt sth new.

Overall, a refreshing and entertaining performance. Something that we don't get to see or experience in SG often. I would of cos recommend my friends to watch it!
