Backdate: Vietnam Hanoi Sep 2023 Day 8

17/9/23 Sun: Woke up at 9am and walked over to this roadside pork rib (cháo) porridge stall not far away but it was already packed with customers at 10am. We got two empty stools after a short wait and ordered the porridge, which was a bit salty but loaded with floss and crispy youtiao~ only VND50,000 for two bowls!

Spent some time in the above small antique shop that sold lots of things which were not cheap but PY bought a small pin in the end. After that, we chanced upon a dessert shop that just opened on that day, so we decided to give it a try before lunch.

We made our orders and was showed seats on the second floor at the rather cosy cafe.

PY's lemon cake (VND70,000) and my mango breaded biscuit (VND38,000) was meh but the matcha one (VND38,000) was so good, especially the bitter matcha filling. My jasmine pear iced tea (VND55,000) was nice too. PY's orange-flavoured coffee (VND65,000) was surprisingly nice albeit I don't drink coffee usually.

We walked to a supermart to get some coffee powder for my family and Potato, as well as Ning. Then, we had lunch at The Hanoi Social Club. Sat at the second floor.

PY ordered English breakfast tea (VND50,000) and ate vegetarian linguine (VND160,000) for lunch while I tried their Mi Quang (VND90,000). It was nice. The bo bia (VND30,000) with coconut fillings was too sweet though.

Randomly popped into a scented candles store PY found and I bought three scented candles for VND760,000, one was for YB. *Lol splurging on the last day of a trip seems to be our style lol.*

Walked back to our Airbnb, packed our luggage and got a Grab car (VND321,000) to the airport at about 3.45pm. It was drizzling now and then and we got to the airport at 4.50pm.

Bought coffee for Fran at the airport and both of us shared a bowl of chicken pho before boarding SQ193 at 6.30pm. The pho was a freaking VND180,000, easily four to five times more expensive than a bowl you get at Hanoi Old Quarter... oh well.
