PotaTOH's ROM, families lunch @ Shin Yeh, San Laksa Steamboat and Timbre with Farmily + PotaTOH's marriage yacht party + Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald + YL's wedding @ Aura + PotaTOH's stay at MBS + meetup with MY and Amelia @ Hokkaido Marche
16/11/18 Fri: Potato came from hall to drive my family down to ROM~ and he bought me a lovely bouquet! *Mum loves flowers, but cos dad has never bought her one, so she was so happy while posing with mine keke~* Our solemnisation was scheduled for 10.20am, and YB, Ian, Yuri, Jess and his family reached soon too.
We were ushered into the room soon after everyone gathered. *Potato's dad was so enthu taking photos, even while he was the witness o lol!* The whole solemnisation and exchange of rings session took only 10mins I think? 4 of us sat around the solemniser lady, while she read out the vows for us to recite, and not forgetting the "I dos"~ *Yes, officially Mrs Toh now keke!*
Happy for the presence of our families and best friends at our solemnisation, cos it means a lot to us. Took some more photos outside afterwards for a while, and then our families left for the lunch banquet at Shin Yeh Taiwanese restaurant at Liang Court.
Potato's mum took photos of some of the food, while the rest of us juz kept eating keke. We chose their Set Menu 7, which consists of脆皮香酥鸭(crispy duck served with pancake, sweet sauce and spring onion)、红烧蟹肉海味鱼翅(braised shark's fin broth with crab meat and dried seafood)、XO虾球西兰花(sautéed fresh prawn with XO chilli sauce)、清蒸海石斑(steamed sea grouper with light soya sauce)、蜜枣排骨(wok-seared pork spare ribs with honey-date)、酿鱼鳔豆根扒菜蔬(braised seasonal vegetables with stuffed fish maw and bean dough)、金瓜炒新竹米粉(fried 'Xin Zhu' rice noodle with pumpkin) and 杨枝甘露 (chilled mango cream with pomelo and sago). I loved the shark's fin broth, fresh grouper, dessert and bee hoon (though too full to finish). Was slightly disappointed with the duck cos I thought it would taste similar to 北京烤鸭, but this is much more "nua". Potato's dad wanted to pay for it as usual, but I managed to foot the bills in the end. Potato and I split the bill of about $640 among us two~ as a way to thank our families for taking their time out to spend such an impt day of our lives with us!
We ended lunch earlier than expected, at about 1+ pm. Potato drove my family home, and he headed to NIE for ppt and then visit his ex-students at night. Back hm and I had to split the flowers into two vases. Rested in the afternoon, and went out to meet Ian, Yuri, James, PY and Francine for Farmily's dinner at San Laksa Steamboat at Telok Blangah. We tried their famous laksa soupbase, as well as the chicken one. Potato was nt feeling well and din meet us in the end... 被Ian and James念到~ lol. Very thankful for their treat for "the lonely bride", and I decided to join them for their planned date at Timbre at night to watch 53A perform. *PotaTOH's love song? We don't have one really haha! Maybe we can compose one someday! Where's originality eh!*
17/11/18 Sat: James met Jess, LL, XY and I at the taxi stand outside Harbourfront MRT and drove us into Sentosa's One Degree 15 Marina Club. I knew Ian, Yuri, SS, Ning, PY, Francine, MM and Andre were thr helping out on the Ferretti 630 aft lunch.
They had an awesome welcome for me, with of cos my Potato strumming his guitar and humming love song keke~ SS came up with the idea for the décor, very much to my liking of cos! And she bought us lychee martini-flavoured cake as our wedding cake! Tasted really good cos it's not too sweet.
It's my first time on a yacht. Time to explore the upper deck while the ladies kept me in surprise for the last-min touch-up of the décor table~
Soon, Potato and I could go take a look at the pretty décor and wonderful messages they all left us on this special occasion! *Francine even bought us the pair of Potato couple plushie! So cute!*
*See my pretty ladies on board? Weet weet!* Captain James gave us a safety briefing before the yacht departed for St John's Island. We had to keep some of the décor in case they topple over while cruising. So happy that we were blessed with good cloudy weather on that Sat! *我想老天对我俩的结合也感到非常开心吧呵呵!*
James, Potato, Ian, Yuri, Ning, Andre and MM went into the waters aft we docked near St John's. XY, SS, Francine, LL, Jess, PY and I stayed on-board singing KTV, "modelling" for photos and played UNO and Saboteur.
While those at sea were happily swimming, paddling and just floating (I sat in the swan float with Potato for a brief while haha~), James and Ian also din forget to give the groom a "brotherly push" into the waters to show their love for him in a... guy's way? Lol.
*Look at my 30-year old husband on the float with that paddle... LOL!* Meanwhile, I had my“私人贴身摄影师” XY who provided me with some "solo photoshoot session" on the yacht haha~ Her skills not bad o!
Poor Jess got sea-sick while the yacht docked for 2hrs in the middle of the sea. She had ginger sweet, ginger tea etc but I don't know if it really helped or not... so much so she didn't hav appetite for dinner, and then vomited once in the toilet.
There were also spicy crabs and other seafood, as well as coconut jelly dessert on the other table. Yums~ We had our dinner on the upper deck as the sun set, and as we sailed towards the fireworks at Sentosa haha. Aft which, Potato and I were made to give our speech~ it's really much love and thanks though both of us ain't good with words. In return, the friends gave us their blessings via the Chinese traditional "yum sengs"!
Two of us had our moment lying down under the dark skies (cos no stars~) and shared a bit on our thoughts on the whole party I think. We are very grateful, deep down, cos Stephen has his lovely sis and Andre, as well as a bunch of supportive family members, and I have this grp of ladies whom I share a close relationship with. It's definitely a night to rmb for us.
Aft the yacht anchored, James drove Andre, MM, Jess and I out to Harbourfront. Potato stayed overnight on the yacht with Ian, Yuri, James, Daphne, Francine, Ning and PY. Jess and I then took the train hm~ and I still wanted to chat to her with my "hoarse-and-already-dying" voice lol.
20/11/18 Tues: STC sent the $80 worth of wedding hamper I chose over to my place in the afternoon on my race day. Hurray!
21/11/18 Weds: Cannot skip kickboxing for no reason!
Still intriguing, but there were some plot holes in the movie, which critics are pretty harsh on.
I loved the Harry Potter series. I enjoy the Fantastic Beasts, but I'll take things with a pinch of salt.
Rating: 3.5/5
24/11/18 Sat: Ben, Jess and I went to Tania and YL's wedding dinner at Aura sky lounge together. Lovely weather and Ben's iPhone X's camera was pretty impressive!
James, Sophie, their daughter Charlotte, HA and his wife were sitting on the same table as us too. I liked how YL and Tania played a game with guests in the middle, and that their wedding band had sea turtle engravings to remind themselves "to find their way home no matter what". *Hey, I'm the 10th highest scorer among their 111 guests present o!*
I loved their artisanal Burrata cheese with green asparagus and truffle, and Strozzapreti pasta with crab, prosecco and salmon caviar. The Tiramisu and Italian Seabass were nt bad too. YL came and talk to us towards the end of the dinner, and I think the wedding is pretty much him and Tania... no frills but yet proper at the same time. Their outdoor wedding photoshoot in Bali was very nice imo.
25/11/18 Sun: Potato and I got to stay at MBS thanks to mum's free hotel room. They gave us a Premier rm at Tower 2, 39th floor. We met Amelia for dinner at Rasapura Masters food court, and she recommended the Korean food. Being a staff, she could get 20 percent discount neh~ Their bibimbap and seaweed soup were delicious. Aft which, she came over to our rm and watched "Mission Impossible" with us. *Brought my laptop and HDMI cable thr but realised this is an old model which did not come with HDMI ports argh!*
26/11/18 Mon: We went over to Rocku Yakiniku at Bugis+ for BBQ lunch buffet with Potato's NIE mates. All of them were younger than us neh~ *Thks dear for your treat!*
Amelia, MY and I met at Hokkaido Marche at Orchard Central in the evening for dinner. I tried the hakodate spicy ramen ($13)... pretty shiok. Then, we had strawberry short cake and cheese cake at Henri Charpentier~ ex but nice. *Thks to MY for the treat!*
27/11/18 Tues: New cycle of aerial yoga for me, and the class was the fullest I've seen since I joined more than a year ago!
29/11/18 Thurs: Ahna LL and I met for my belated bday dinner at Koh Grill and Sushi bar. Jess had to work OT, while Clement had to take care of the sick KW who was vomiting quite badly due to her pregnancy. Ahna's hubby joined us for a late meal aft his company buffet ended.
Koh Grill and Sushi's seriously understaffed. Their attitude were fine, but we had to wait quite a while for them to come to us for orders. LL shared about her intention to go on sabbatical, Ahna on learning trading of indexes and her younger son KJ, as well as Ashley who's gg to Iran for some project competition representing SP wow. LL shared about her nephew Dexter, whom I muz say is very mature for a 7-yr old. He wants to repay his aunt when he "starts working at 26", but would only "give a little to her" cos he "has to leave the bigger amt of money for the homeless people". How nice and sweet of a kid who thinks this way! *I hope he grows up well, and bring smiles to the less fortunate. Oh and thks to LL for the nice photo frames as my bday gift.*

Oh and my damn ABT-linked POSB debit card suddenly died on me before I could tap into Pioneer MRT's control! I did not bring my wallet, and the MRT staff let me go thru only to Boon Lay cos she tot the Transitlink office at JP could help. But when I talked to the staff at SMRT Boon Lay control office, they said this was the bank's prob. Alas~ POSB alrdy closed at 8+pm, well at least I had my umbrella, and Boon Lay MRT was only a 20 mins' walk from Lakeside... *It's the second time this has happened to my ABT-linked card. I better bring a spare ez-link card from now on.*
22/11/18 Thurs: Potato and I decided to watch "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" at JP at night cos my GV member's birthday deal of 1-for-1 promo ($9 on a Thurs) was expiring aft Nov.
The plot follows Newt Scamander and Albus Dumbledore as they attempt to take down the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, while facing new threats in a more divided wizarding world. 22/11/18 Thurs: Potato and I decided to watch "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" at JP at night cos my GV member's birthday deal of 1-for-1 promo ($9 on a Thurs) was expiring aft Nov.
