1/6/26 Mon: *Was in and out of sleep last night because I felt so cold in the air-conditioned room somehow!* Deep stretch class this morning with Anna was okay. Had some deep stretches which was good for my lower back I guess, but damn my sweaty palm is a problem when we come to downward dogs and grabbing of the limbs~
Potato showed creativity once again when he made the "tri-colour" meatless dinner tonight haha! He handmade the kimchi jeon, which was the yummy star of the dish somewhat, the omelette and added the edamame and cold somen underneath! 2/6/26 Tues: Met Mike and LL for lunch at Una Una~ Mike's treat haha! The unagi and barachirashi don was so-so. Talked about work and his heritage trip back to his ancestral town in Meixian district, where he said most of the Mauritian Hakka's were from. He was there with his wife and BIL to visit his mum's 86-year-old sister, and many other relatives.
Potato made Taiwanese noodle soup with mussels, shrimp paste and cabbage for dinner. He didn't liked that the noodles was too soft after he soaked it earlier, the mussels were such a hassle to deal with and the soup was bland other than the seafood taste. Oh well, I still enjoyed dinner because it's his efforts!3/6/26 Weds: Went to my MIL’s with Potato to help wheel her out for lunch nearby before going over to KTPH for her consultation at 2pm with the physiotherapist. She spent some time explaining her numbness and loss of strength in her left calf down and the seemingly swollen right leg, which is due for scan tomorrow. Passing motion and urinating has not been easy for her since her spine surgery in end March too. It will take a while for her to recover fully it seems.
Finished reading “The Vanishing Cherry Blossom Bookshop” by Takuya Asakura.
A healing fiction where the hidden and magical bookshop run by Sakura and her calico cat Kobako only appears during the spring cherry blossom season as a sanctuary for individuals burdened by grief, regret and unresolved past sorrows.
The story of the old grandpa with dementia left me with the deepest impression. How he still missed his life as a train driver and his longing for his dead wife.
Rating: 3.5/5
4/6/26 Thurs: Enjoyed dinner at my parents! Mum’s having sort of a flare-up again on her skin due to the hot weather… damn the heat!
Also went to see doctor again for my third UTI infection I think, since the last two in December and January. Doctor gave me just antibiotics since the symptoms seem milder this time (just achiness towards the end of pee and not really urgency to pee much), but if it happens often, i.e three times in six months kind, then I’d better do a test to find out exactly what bacteria it is causing that.
5/6/26 Fri: Jess, Ahna and I treated LL to an early birthday dinner at Ajumma's at Westgate tonight. Their bibimbap was not bad and I ordered the fried pork dumplings for the two to try because I liked it when I ate that with Justin. After that, we continued our chat at Tiong Bahru Bakery cafe with a peach oolong tart for LL~ it was a bit sweet but okay la. *The hot weather these past weeks have been terrible and I don't think I have a good tolerance towards it.*
6/6/26 Sat: Very warm and humid Saturday. PotaTOHs met Ian and Linh for a game of bowling at Star Bowl, Hometeam NS Bukit Batok. *$3.80 per person per game... and we had three games.*
Funny how Ian wants his 100-mark but he just had to stop at 99 after the last game lol~ It's been a while since I last bowled but I thought I did not bad haha. *Hey I even managed to "spare" with two pins in the middle and two at the sides!* Tried Potato's "spinning ball" but my ball only landed with a loud thud lol. Ian can release the ball so close to the ground it's quiet and that was cool!
After two hours, we left for Fishmart Sakuraya at Clementi and Ian treated us to dinner~ for taking care of Beehoon when they were away hehe~ Satisfying! Linh wanted dessert, so we went to Yuen Yeung. There was a queue, but we got tables quite fast.
I ordered this fermented rice and mochi with phoenix milk custard, which was not bad but had the taste of freshly baked bread and the rice bits from sik hye it seemed lol. Potato's black sesame paste tasted a bit bitter because it wasn't sweet, and we both thought it ought to be sweeter. *My eyes were so dry from only seven hours of contacts-wearing. It's been a long time since I last wore contacts often though, so I guess the tolerance is not there now. I ought to start with shorter hours first.*
7/6/26 Sun: Potato cooked drunken prawn soup with bok choy, carrots, cordycep flowers, mushrooms and the chicken soup herbal ingredient pack he bought at Sheng Shiong with wolfberries, 当归、党参、玉竹etc. It was quite nice but the bitter after taste does get to me, so I reckon just steamed drunken prawns with a bit of the sauce will be better in future.
8/6/26 Mon: Accompanied dad to see the specialist who did his polyps removal surgery and after checking, he said the previous prolapse condition seemed fine for now after the stitching, but he should eat more fruits to help soften his stools so they don't force it out again.
Potato cooked edamame with kimchi and onion pancake, bok choy in miso soup and cold soba for our meatless dinner tonight~ the pancake was good and the bok choy tasted yummy in miso soup too!
9/6/26 Tues: Went for neck, back and shoulder opening class with Daryl because my left hip has been a bit sore since yesterday. I liked his classes as usual because the nerve stretches somehow helps to open up the different body parts quite a bit.
PotaTOHs went to Cold Storage at West Mall earlier to get yong tau foo ingredients (10 for $6.5) and added crabsticks and enoki shrooms for our soup during dinner~ shiok!
10/6/26 Weds: He cooked vongole alle spaghetti with celery for dinner~ yummy! *My left hip/butt aches more these two days and today, my left triceps experienced weird aches on and off ouch~*

11/6/26 Thurs: PotaTOHs went for beginners Pilates class at the new One Pilates Studio at Gombak this morning because my Ultimate Burn class yesterday afternoon got cancelled due to insufficient sign-ups. *Yes us and our silly shots again haha~* The studio was quite cramped and I thought the instructor was not detailed enough in her instructions. The moves were repetitive, but again, it's been a while since I attended beginner's class since Potato rarely does Pilates. If the intermediate classes keep getting cancelled here, I won't continue after my 10-class package is used up. Maybe it's been a while since I did Pilates or moved a bit more, so I felt a bit tired after class omg. Seriously, irregular workouts and I can feel I'm more lethargic than usual and the phlegm and weird cough won't go away as quickly it seems. I need to get back to my weekly exercise routine after the trip!
Did a 1.5 hour session of massage with Hans today and I think she's quite good. She helped with松筋massage for my neck and back, and also did泥灸for my lower back and upper back till胆经、肝经area. She said my left back down till butt area is obviously tighter, and the pelvis is slightly tilted, so she did some lifting and pulling with my left leg to adjust it, and I could tell my left hip does not look as high now! During the whole process, I could feel my stomach ache a bit before I lao sai-ed afterwards lol. Hans did mention I also have false wide pelvis/saddlebags fat issue, and I saw frog pose can help with it.
