10/4/21 Sat: Potato tried cooking codfish in chilli and miso soup for the first time during dinner. Though the miso taste did not really infused into the fish, it was still tender!
11/4/21 Sun: After tuition with Rayne, I went to Jurong West market and dabao-ed mhk for lunch and went back to mum’s. We waited till 1pm for the 卓球嫁妆店to open before going over to clarify with the auntie all that we need to get for过大礼. *Don’t know why but she made herself sound so busy, as if she can’t wait to chase us away. Online reviews about the lady seemed true then.*
Vacuumed our place in the afternoon when Potato was away attending his fourth uncle’s wake. After he came home, we walked quite a bit to Blk 413 wanting to try Nurul Delight’s nasi lemak, but sadly they only sell rojak in the evening. Ended up going to Blk 324 and I ate酸辣汤拉面 ($4) while he had chicken rice. He also ordered韭菜水饺for us to share! Was tempted to buy yuzu with honey lemon at the coffeeshop as I saw the ad on the table, but the auntie said they don’t sell the drink anymore, so Potato came home and secretly made honey with yuzu choya (he forgot we do have a small bowl of yuzu that MIL bought over haha~) for me haha. Not wow but I appreciate the thought!
12/4/21 Mon: Back in Cardio Tramp class today and damn it sure worked my thighs, abs, obliques and arms~ slowly but surely I’ll improve! *OMG DOMs on my right hamstring is pretty bad…*
Potato had his first jab of Moderna Covid-19 vaccine this afternoon, and he felt the soreness late afternoon onwards, so I helped to marinate the chicken wings to be grilled with two tablespoons of honey, one tablespoon of light soy sauce and some white pepper. We also marinated leftover wings with tom yam and teriyaki sauce. I stir-fried the spinach, mushrooms and chilli~ shrimp tofu only had to be steamed with rice. Simple but satisfying dinner for PotaTOHs~
Finished watching 《펜트하우스 II》(Penthouse season 2).
I find the drama very “loud and noisy”. Some storylines were outrageous even. The main villain주단태 (엄기준) is too much… I don’t know how evil he can get and how much all these would drag till in Season 3 before he is truly punished.
Logan Lee (박은석) actually likes Shim Su-ryeon (이지아) !? I thought he likes her daughter back in Season 1. *And did he really die in the explosion in the last episode?* The appearance of two new characters, Yoo Dong-pil (Park Ho-san) and Joon-ki (온주완) near the ending of Season 2 makes Season 3 intriguing too.
I predict the last season to be aired in June a whole of drama-mama again, but since I have already finished two seasons… might as well watch it till the end.

13/4/21 Tues: STC is resuming back to office work for staff gradually. My department is scheduled to return to work from Tuesday to Thursdays. Had lunch with Mike at Marsiling’s hawker and the hokkien mee ($4) was not bad.
Went to aerial class with DOMs on my right hamstring but it felt better after stretching in class though.
14/4/21 Weds: We tried a second round of Mille-Feuille nabe and Potato opted to swop pork belly for bacon, napa cabbage for cabbage and white wine for chicken stock. Enoki mushroom, white pepper, white sesame and sesame oil were impromptu! It was a great improvision because we finished the whole pot of soup keke! The grilled chicken wings marinated with teriyaki sauce the day before was good too.
Our forest green bedsheet set from SOJAO arrived as well~ it looks so inviting!
15/4/21 Thurs: Potato cooked dinner tonight and I suddenly realised that butterhead lettuce tasted so good~ *He removed all the bones for us both and served the meat to me in the lettuce like a wrap hehe~ thanks!*
16/4/21 Fri: Cooked hot soba for myself... not bad except that the soba could be more "springy"!
Met PY, Ning and
Francine for dinner at Noodle Star K. Aside to the dishes I tried the last time
with Alina and HT, we also had steamed egg, pork bone broth and kimchi pancake
this time. Shopped at Don Donki for some snacks and drinks before we headed
home. *The ladies bought a tamago pan for Potato and I haha!* PotaTOHs
watched episode one of “Vincenzo” at night too… not bad for a start it seems.
17/4/21 Sat: It was pouring in the afternoon when PotaTOHs headed out for lunch and to buy prawns to make our Vietnam summer roll in the evening. I planned to make 20 rolls and the sauce. We began making it at 4pm, and LL arrived not long after. Potato was done with his mashed potatoes and eggs with celery, and also grilling of the crispy gyoza in the blink of an eye it seemed, so he helped me with the butterhead lettuce, deveining of the prawns, slicing of the carrots and boiling them with the beansprouts. *I was worried about not being able to finish it on time and that they wouldn’t have enough to eat, but glad LL and Jess bought snacks from Chateraise, egg tarts and老婆饼over hehe.*
Jess, KW, Clement and the bubbly YX arrived about dinner time~ We tucked in before Ahna. I enjoyed everything on the table of course… even my handmade summer rolls woohoo! *YX’s urine leaked from the diapers and stained our settee cushion, but luckily not the dining settee itself.*
Brought them to see the different areas of the house. Clement, KW and YX left at 9pm as it’s time for her to sleep. Ahna, LL, Jess and I sat and chatted at our dining area all the way till 12.30am omg~ but it’s always comforting to talk to them! *Don’t know why “dumb” people exists but let’s all remember that we’re a pillar to some others in one way or another.*
18/4/21 Sun: Simple home-cooked fare by Potato tonight! He blanched and stir-fried the potatoes, celery and carrots, and also marinated the chicken meat with mirin, miso and chicken broth. I enjoyed the veggies and chicken texture though my nose were blocked, so the tastebuds weren’t exactly working well hehe.
19/4/21 Mon: As usual, cardio tramp classes made my legs very tired! On a side note, our Oculus Quest 2 set ($449) arrived! Potato and I were very excited about it and we did the set-up and updates today.
Potato tried cooking lotus roots soup with carrots, red dates and wolfberries for dinner. *It turned out very sweet and he thought because six red dates was a bit too much.* He also tried stir-frying银鲳for the first time, and it turned out fine. I could not finish one whole fish by myself la, so the big cat helped me eat my leftover quarter hehe~ thanks dear! *He said my stir-fried ladys’ fingers with king oyster mushrooms and chilli padi was not bad!*
20/4/21 Tues: Had the famous Hong Ji Herbs Bah Kut The at Marsiling with Mike for lunch… it’s now $6 per portion (with rice)… I think the price increased from the last time I went to eat though.
We flipped and hung in mid-air tonight for aerial yoga~ quite easy for me!
Potato said he got a headache after playing “Rec Room” and “The Under” in the afternoon, so I tried “The Under” at night after “Beat Saber” ($42). It was alright for me, but the headset does get a little heavy after some time. And as the weather was hot and the headset probably tightened our heads quite a bit, so maybe that’s why he felt it.
21/4/21 Weds: Potato put salmon fillet, broccoli and lemon slices into the oven to bake for about half an hour in total at 200 degrees Celsius. We had rice to go with the simple baked fish for lunch!Had duck rice near Gombak central for dinner, and I bought home Umi Sushi just to surprise Potato while we watch “Vincenzo Cassano” at night haha~
22/4/21 Thurs: The pretty and cheap clock I bought from Taobao two months ago for less than S$10 suddenly fell onto the floor in the morning and some of the parts chipped and cracked. We were both upset because the seller no longer sells that design, and so I had to look around elsewhere for similar designs and wait till the day I shop from Taobao again to ship it here.
Had lunch with Jesslyn at Marsiling coffee shop as we caught up a bit after the WFH period during Covid-19. *这里究竟何去何从?*
PotaTOHs had home-cooked western meal for the night thanks to my big meow: Pork ribs in Tempranillo (because I have one bottle from seven years ago...) with caramelised onions, paired with mashed potatoes and eggs in mayo served with butterhead lettuce! I loved everything even if it was not to his “high standard”~ maybe just not the drinking haha.23/4/21 Fri: Potato stir-fried shimeiji mushrooms with ladys’ fingers, cabbage, garlic and chilli padi~ tasted awesome! We also finally finished the last four pieces of moobing pork slices during dinner. Tried the baked chicken karaage for the first time and it was not salty, so it should go well with mayonnaise.
24/4/21 Sat: Potato cooked lunch before he went out to Mervyn’s. We cleared the cabbage and lady’s finger. Cooked a soup with cabbage, eggs and Shimeiji mushrooms. *Anything with Shimeiji mushrooms are good~*
25/4/21 Sun: Potato cooked lunch all by himself for my university friends SS, Michelle, LC, MT her husband and Alwyn. The fried eggs with shimeiji mushrooms and the big pot of Mille Feuille nabe tasted good, though the cabbage were a bit overcooked this time. The first batch of chicken karaage baked by me, however, were still cold in the mid-portion… aish, but he made sure his second batch were thoroughly heated up in the oven. *We cooked a lot of rice, but MT’s husband ended up never eat at all, and the girls also did not eat a lot. LC quitted rice!* They also bought mee siam from西北shiok to try, which tasted alright but expensive.
Alwyn was running here and there in the house, so the dad brought him to the playgrounds and then later slept in his car, with the engine turned on, which was dangerous. The girls were chit-chatting at my place, and we also had the ang gu kueh and cakes that MT and SS bought respectively. Mich and SS had their first taste of VR game and it was fun watching them so blur haha!
PotaTOHs ate the leftovers from the afternoon as dinner, and we caught an episode of “The Queen’s Gambit” and then the finale of “Masterchef S2”, where Derek beat Leon after three rounds.
26/4/21 Mon: Potato fried rice with chicken, cucumber, onions and carrots from the edamame rice we had left from yesterday~ and a bit of mayonnaise on top of the rice enhanced the flavour further!
