Thumbs up to the穿越剧“步步惊心”！
2011年的中国穿越剧。本剧讲述一个叫张晓（刘诗诗饰）的现代女子因意外回到清朝康熙年间成了马尔泰·若曦并结识了皇族的各个皇子，也见识九子夺嫡的历史进程。
我很喜欢他们塑造出来的每个皇子，个性都蛮鲜明的。若曦也够厉害的啦，从一开始笨笨的十阿哥（叶祖新饰）瞧上她后，后来八阿哥（郑嘉颖饰）、十四阿哥（林更新饰）和四阿哥（吴奇隆饰）也都喜欢上了她。八阿哥和四阿哥与她都是两情相悦，但十四阿哥的单相思呢我觉得戏里没有刻画地太重，我一直都不太看得出来，直到他最后为了让她逃离痛苦的宫中生活娶了她我才觉得或许有那么一点，但始终觉得他只是很重视这个好朋友而已，就如十三阿哥（袁弘饰）视若曦为知己一样。*十四阿哥对若曦说的“花开堪折直须折，莫待无花空折枝”我倒是记下来了。意思就是把握来到的爱情！* 但她毕竟不属于那个年代，所以伤感的结局也是理所当然的。虽然“雍正”和“若曦”的情了了（戏外有情人终成眷属啦~），我看了不舍，但我没有去追后来的“步步惊情”，主要是因为演员很多都换人了啦。
刘松仁演的康熙也很棒，不愧是老戏骨啊！宫中大牢，还真由不得谁任意妄为，就连皇上也是haiz。边看清剧，也边了解一些清史，我颇是乐在其中。但究竟历史上康熙到底传位于“四阿哥”还是“十四阿哥”呢，这点好像争论不休啊。。。
这部剧啊，找哪天有时间值得再重看的！

Korea did a remake of the drama in 2016: 달의 연인-보보경심 : 려 (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo). The setting is changed to Goryeo dynasty though.
There are still differences due to historical facts, like how the fourth prince왕소 (이준기, 4th king of Goryeo eventually) came back to the palace after being forced by his mother to be adopted by another country, and how he did not want to be king at first (as oppose to四阿哥who always had the ambition to be a king). He began to fall in love with해수 (IU), a beautician who came from the 21st century after she helped masked the scar on his face. Besides love rivalry with 8th prince왕욱 (강하늘) over해수, there's also the battle for the king's throne between the brothers.
All in all, I thought the production team was in a hurry to finish the whole drama. Lots of details missing from the show as compared to the original, hence not as impactful. Oh and I think this is only the second drama I'm seeing with이준기in it... his face suits acting in historical drama.

We were so full after 2+ hours, and Potato was waiting just outside the restaurant and we headed down to meet Jace from Authors and Style to view the quotation. *Thanks for the handmade soap too Potato!*
5/11/19 Tues: WL promised to treat me to Seoulid Korean buffet for my 31st bday haha so we met for dinner. We had the freeflow buffet ($19.90 per pax I think?). Their soju-marinated chicken meat was not bad. Again, super full after the meal... freshness of food and satisfaction so-so la overall.
6/11/19 Weds: Dester Singapore Gold Cup PPD was held at Bang Bang Club next to Pan Pacific Hotel. Horrible choice of venue. Bad lighting, bad positioning, bad entertainment and meh-meh food. It's no wonder most of the guests left right after the draw ended. If not for work, I don't want to be there at all. *Honestly, I'd rather we have it at our own marquee and save the venue cost... since no exposure is allowed to public after all!*
8/11/19 Fri: Woots~ PotaTOH's wedding photos from Sum Studio has finally arrived at my place this morning! Solid wrapping and the photos came out not bad, but I have yet to tear down the thin film on the acrylic frame, so hopefully those "cracks" I saw are merely superficial.
9/11/19 Sat: Great recommendation by Jere and WX for our dinner date at Scaled by Ah Hua Kelong! My favourite dish was the Canto Grouper ($26). The sweet potatoes noodles and lala is perfect in that canto style broth. Mussels with housemade curry and mantou ($16) saw a nice mix between Chi and Indian curry, tinge of assam but not as sour as I thought but spicier instead. Crispy mantou went very well with the curry! Seabass pasta ($22) Nori cream Tagliatelle, pickled radish and tobiko was my bias too. Love the seabass and tagliatelle with shrooms sauce and tobbiko! Chilli crab Risotto ($26) with roasted prawns, coriander egg and SV egg was flavourful, but for the Prawn daishi aglio olio ($26) with fried prawn head and cherry tomato, I only liked the prawns but not so much the pasta.
4 of us plus Zianne walked further down to have a bowl of choco banana bingsu opposite Bugis Junction.
10/11/19 - 11/11/19 Sun-Mon: Gold Cup day and it was Yvonne's last race day duty so she came to "disturb" me as usual haha.
We had an early birthday celebration with MIL. MM and Andre bought some cakes over from Chateraise. Long night for me as I continued to work on a few more articles after that, and slept over at Potato's.
Saw the "surprise 1-year anniversary project" he'd been preparing for me for quite some time~ It's a photobook that contains memories of us together since the very beginning. Very thankful for his time and effort in doing this. :)
12/11/19: Tried a new pose which was not easy to do but I managed to flip over and did it!
13/11/19: Met up with my primary school friend Gwen after a long long time at Pho Street for dinner. It's a wonder how we have lots to talk about even after so long, but man she can talk very well, macham saleswoman haha. *So nice of her to treat me to dinner and the choco bites from a bakery, and she also bought one hydro-dipped horseshoe!*
16/11/19 Sat: YB, BY, CY and I had lunch at Plentyfull before we went to the Boutique Fair at F1 Pit building. I had the avocado salmon toast~ so full from it!
Lots of stalls there! I bought a pair of pants from Reckless Ericka ($189) and though a few others did caught my eyes, but things there were really expensive.
Met Potato and we went up to MT's new home. Played Bomberman, Mario Kart, The Singapore Dream and escape room games with the cards Potato brought along. Ate the nasi lemak that MT's maid prepared though~ not bad! LC came over for dinner, but left before SS reached haha.
Time flies, and it's our first year of marriage anniversary already! PotaTOHs have been together for four years, and though one year into our marriage is still considered short (plus we haven't lived together as yet), we are prepared to share joy and face challenges ahead together! Happy Paper Anniversary to us!

26/11/19 Tues: Yes I managed to do the backflip which I failed many times previously rather easily this time, and the trick, besides technique, was to not to be afraid of letting myself go a little bit more to tilt backwards in order for one leg to hook itself onto one side of the strap properly. *My lower back is aching a little bit now from all the stretching and core work la~*

18/11/19 Mon: Met up a second time with Livspace's Hsinwen for the quotation, had jap barachirashi set for lunch at Suntec City afterwards. Then, Potato came over to game while I napped in the afternoon. We had home-cooked dinner in evening and caught some episodes of "Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020" before he headed back to hall.

23/11/19 Sat: Attended HT and BH's wedding solemnisation and lunch buffet at Hotel Jen Orchard Gateway. Very happy to see this primary school best friend of ours get hitched!
Alina and I had a few rounds of food while waiting for the bride to be free for some photo-taking with us!
May the lovebirds have a blissful marriage! Alina and I shopped around Takashimaya to look for Christmas gifts for her staffs. Had dinner at Koh Grill and Sushi bar and a good chat of our love lifes too.
24/11/19 Sun: Volunteered for STC's Hydro-dip horseshoe booth at Artbox 2019 in the afternoon. Was raining on and off sia. YB, BY and WL had a go at hydro-dipping and bought two in total! *Alina and Keith came by too!*
Had卤肉饭、菠萝包、grilled pork and tom yam seafood noodle~ satisfied my hungry stomach after four hours of work.
